I really feel for @WE! The forest of Fontainebleau burned!
Here unintended consequences of the fires on Ontario were that the smoke ended up mostly in New York, but enough here near the White Mountains that it lowered the temps enough here to normal. But poor @MM has to have a lot of air purifiers, her city has had several days of winning a doleful competition — worst air quality for the day in the world!!

I’m sorry to know that the heat wave is still going on strong and that wildfires are affecting taking place in Canada.
Earlier this year we had bad air quality and haze due to fires in our neighbouring countries. They managed to contain it quite quickly and the wind spared us the worst of it after a few weeks. It’s a yearly thing for us though with forest burning to clear land before the next planting season takes place.
REMINDER … we are taking a BREAK next week. So the Episode 7 Rewatch will be in 2 weeks’ time!!!

We learn about something called Mawari today. A reporters’boot camp of sorts? It’s a gruelling way to break in trainees to force them to go without sleep or food for 24 hours just to get some news.
@IF, I have big fan, no more, but it’s okay. I have also a water bottle making “pshiit” vaporise water on myself.

@GB, last week I made a little error: indeed, as you said it was not his first murder, as he wanted to make the new ones accused for previous murder. However, it’s the first murder we see on screen, and a buried dead.
@IB, they really play up the disgusting way of life during the mawari. The jaw-dropping shocked looks of the newbies got me anticipating worse, but it was bad enough as it was.
Is it a PPL scene here? It looks like.
@WE, today’s episode we’ll see what happened about the earlier murders of the subordinates of that man whom DP’s brother ‘buried’ alive. That was a really cruel way to kill!
His friend thinks he’s gentle but he admits he’s not that gentle LOL.

Dal Po actually managed to stick together the shredded reports from the police station. That was a good move.

@IB, yes. I just rewatched that scene before starting the rewatch proper. It was so disgusting and so unlikely. At least she’d want to wash her hands first!!! Or she should have hit that cockroach with something other than her hand.
I am in the scene when they descend the stairs.
SBJ’s loud checked jacket in yellowbrown with a pink shirt and a black paisley tie makes me laugh.

I guess you’re at the scene where DP meets IH outside. That’s an important scene.

Now we hear the conversation about why IH became a reporter. Irony of ironies, DP hated reporters but he inspired his beloved, IH, to become a reporter herself. What a twist!
She’s stubborn and will become journalist, no matter what. Intercut with flashback of mother and father. Father has to admit and accept her project.
The rules about MaWaRi would have been boring if they had not been cruelly delivered while both pairs were running dangerously down stairs!

This show has many occasions where IH’s father comes along at the right time to see DP and IH talking to each other. A very quick way to show us that he’s already in the know, without giving us exposition. But it’s repeated rather a lot!!
@IB, yes… that’s the way to deliver long and boring rules. Make the protagonists run while receiving instructions.

@WE, @IB So we have the 2 other parent child love scenes after Beom Jo and his mum … IH and her father (she keeps kissing his cheek LOL) then grandpa and his faux son, DP. But grandpa has stolen money to buy the gloves!!!
We see “48:00:00” with numbers like the US show “24”.
Dad, “my cheek is going to rot” from her kisses.
Grandpa, “why do you wear such loud underwear! (very random comment!)
About the young friend, becoming cop. I have the feeling to saw him in another PHR drama? Or a drama where he’s also at a police station?

There are kind of coackroach in the bedroom of journalist. But I don’t think it’s a coackroach because it’s able to fly.
Ho, even the sounds of the time counter looks like the one of 24. Is it possible that PHR watched the series and liked? It’s almost my fav western series (or at least in the top 5).
@WE, the Ahn Chan Soo (Lee Joo Seung) character? That requires time to cross check PHR dramas and the dramas Lee Joo Seoung has acted in.
Chan Soo the nerd, became a cool cop.
@IB I thought 48:00:00 was because they had to come up with a good report within 48 hours, but at the same time they had to report back every 2-4 hours.
@WE, The cockroaches I have here can fly as well as walk and run around very fast.
@IB, not only a cool cop but a married cop.
Oh gosh, even when he has “thinking monologues”, the rich mama’s boy thinks he is talking to his mother.
@WE, In NYC we used to get tropical cockroaches (they came in to the city from banana boxe)s about that size in the show and they could fly a little. Absolutely horrifying.
@WE, yes, that’s why I consider the other love-couple the mother-son team of Beom Seo and his mum! Their manifestation of love is over the top.

It’s interesting that Chan Soo has the gut feel that the death of the 2 underlings and the disappearance of the foreman is not as simple as it looks.
Now we have the Reporter Hwang trying to find out about DP’s brother. He feels a sense of responsibility that the family was torn apart because of the irresponsible reporting.
@IF, GB: here cockraochs don’t fly, but are nevertheless disgusting. I’m lucky, I never had some at home, because it’s almost impossible to eradicate.
However, I have currently a mouse in my kitchen. (I also got one two years ago). I’m sorry for the mouse because it’s a cute animal, but also a nuisance, that can poison the area. So, I put poison there. The previous one I used a trap, but I didn’t have traps left at home.
Beom Seo gets to witness that there’s more to DP and IH’s relationship than an uncle and niece one.
@WE the trouble with poisoning a mouse is that we don’t know where they’ll die. It’s nasty if they don’t come out and die far away from home!!!
Good joke that the reporters are taking bets on which news station will get more views but the MSC reporter won’t even bet on his own station! How to win any money if no one bets on the other station?

@GB, yes, you’re right. But because I had deep work to do in my kitchen, I removed furniture, it’s almost empty, and even the places where the mouse could hide (and die) I can easely have access to. I couldn’t end the work because it was too hot. But should finish it next week if I can.
I don’t remember if Ruby falls in love for DP in the drama.

This was fun. I like that DP is a bit snotty abt getting an advantage and is “hated” by IA/BJ team. Too much unhappy suffering in love gets boring.
