    Thank you @pkml3!

Hi Everyone, I just thought to let you know that on Saturday 17th October, I will very likely not be able to join in our Rewatch Party. Just go ahead without me. 😃

  2. @GB, then we should just do a break the 17th october.
    It’s better like that. 😉

  3. HI @GB and @WE,

    yeah lets break then.

  4. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @WE and @IB, that’s nice of you to want to have a break on 17th Oct. I don’t really think it’s necessary, but okay. If @pkml3 does not see our messages and the thread comes up we’ll just ignore it until the following week.

  5. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

OK my dear friends, let’s begin NOW!

  6. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

This is a poignant episode… finally the brothers meet but it’s not the happy reunion it should be.

  7. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I’m wondering why Moon Duk Soo’s phone is still being carried around by Ki Jae Myung and why he turns it on from time to time. That’s how the police were able to know that they were in the shopping area. Ahn Chan Soo sees Dal Po.

  8. Hi GB & IF

  9. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

The brothers try to pass money back and forth to each other over the table. Then hyung and doensaeng both want to pay for the drink.

Sadly DP cannot tell his brother who he is yet. He wants to call him hyung again and again.

  10. @GB, me too, because arent all three dead?

greaLJS reaction and voiceover. Lots of time gicen for t moment when Hyung puts his arm around DalPro in order to look at their reflection in the car window.

  11. The brother is sympathetic, and somehow, without he knows Dal Po is his real brother, like an intuition, he’s kind with him, like if it was his brother.

  12. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

DP has to resort to following his brother and we hear his voiceover thoughts…his fears that his brother is involved in the disappearance of Moon Duk Soo.

What a test of his resolve on being a good reporter. The greatest temptation is laid before him.

  13. “We can meet by chance?”
“Yes, we are in a drama, it can work, let’s do that”.
    😀

  14. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB, I liked that reflection – an analogy … they looked alike and yet the image is slightly warped in the glass because things are not crystal clear and above board anymore between them.

  15. I am at the bathroom scene — thin walls at work! Very funny, but we know we are in elevated nouveau rom-com, no sound effects from Cap.

  16. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Heh @WE. All dramas need lots of chance and coincidence to work!!!

SOOOO much irony this episode and the next couple. This Writer-nim if fantastic in setting up scenes for irony.

DP is supposed to be scolded by his superiors but gets lauded if he can find the suspect first and tell the breaking news… but it’s exactly when he does not want to break the news because it’s his brother who’s the suspect.

  17. The dialog of the comedy scene is gold. Dal Po ends to take at his advantage the “advice” the manager said, while now he’s not anymore enthousiastic about that advice. Funny support actors.

  18. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, it seems as if DP played his bosses but he was actually dead serious.

Bathroom talk LOL. Even guys talk a lot in the toilet???

But the sad conversation between mother and daughter cuts the fun and games.

  19. Annnd there itis! The joke-play on the hyungnim hug. Cap tries it on Beom Jo and finds he must dangle with feet off the floor to get an arm around the neck of the telephone pole.

Very nice old-school joke about men’s heights. I remember seeing
older interviews in which actors of normal heights were really disturbed about sharing scenes with a whole crop of 6 footers who came in together.

  20. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

The mirror scene of mother and daughter reflections so far apart from each other juxtaposed against the brothers’ reflection in the car window scene where hyung had an arm around DP… such a contrast!!!

  21. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE now another funny scene where DP’s superior imagines what DP will do after receiving his brother’s tel number from him. Totally not what he expected.

Again it’s ironic that DP is more afraid than happy about his brother.

  22. Car navigator girlfriend! This is the romance straight ahead episode, 8th in 20, so a little early but honestly this has been a romance for several eps.

The office politics and characters are very well-done but it is even hard to focus on them. They come at a natural pace, while the romance is made up of slow closeups with voiceovers or new musical background.

  23. @GB, I’m not there yet. I’m late because I need to stop the video to read comments here.

  24. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

It’s funny though that DP’s boss really wants to receive DP’s thanks and hugs etc that he might have showered on him if not for what DP has started suspecting.

Next crazy scene, DP and IH. They exchange stuff to eat from each other’s bowls like true family. She takes the egg white and he takes the yoke.

IH thinks that DP had a girlfriend. It was his GPS LOLOL.

  25. Ooooh.. he still goes for the kiss, even with the hand before the mouth, but…. It goes in a real kiss after. No fish kiss for PSH this time.

  26. Hi @GB, another window for you — this time in harmony our OTP eating ramyeon at a convenience store and looking out at the snow.

    Why is snow romantic?
I am partly from New England where it piles up in dirty salty heaps and ruins your shoes.
    Not a romantic metaphor.

  27. “Find videos of people sliding and falling on ice and breaking all their bones.” HAHAHA
(not the real line, but it’s the meaning)

  28. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB I like the DP and IH dialogue. Now he knows exactly how she feels about her mother because he feels it about his brother.

It feels to her that he go into her heart to know all these things. She wants to be friendly family again but he knows he cannot. She says she can but hiccups.

Scenic kiss scene under the shiny light arches. True Kdrama romantic scene.

  29. @WE, The kiss on the hand was very sensual. The following was a very nice real kiss, less because of the preceding or more?

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB we get the hand kiss then the real kiss. Before this there was the sandwich or bread kiss (in the dad’s imagination). So this show really created more than 1 inventive kiss scene all by itself!

  31. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I never knew that reporters were so cold blooded. Just wait and watch and hope people fall. The more spectacular the better.

  32. @IF, no I think the real kiss is better with the fake one before. Think about a direct kiss right away, you remove a beat and suspens in the scene.

  33. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB think because of the hand kiss the real kiss became more.

Bum Jo can’t take a hard hand slap. What a mamma’s boy!

  34. All you could do maybe, is to end on the fake kiss (if you want more slow burn).

  35. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE yup, that’s what I think of the 2nd and real kiss too.

Ahn Chan Soo suspects DP. But it looks like Ki Jae Myung wants to be caught. He keeps turning on Moon Duk Soo’s phone… to tease the police. There’s no reason to do that.

  36. Here we are at the visit of Dad and Grandpa to the MA Wa Ri, the police station. Just the right edge of cringe to begin with, which disappears.

Dad’s eyes light up at Beom Jo’s Mom. He calls her a badger, which is a little over the top in English.

I had forgotten that she rinses her hair in the toilet, unless that is another bit of misdirection.

  37. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE hah! Hair washing and rinse in the toilet LOLOL.

  38. Taps on the back “gwenchana”. I’m happy I could at least put this cliché in W2, because I had difficulties to put clichés into it. (well, I already said that).

  39. ‘She’ meaning In Ah, to get ready for her report.

  40. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB I was about to say the same thing about grandpa and dad coming – they are so proud of IH. Then they see the state of the room where IH has been sleeping.

  41. @WE, I am so glad you saw the backpats. I miss them lately. I like the rhythm, like a heart beat.

  42. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

LOL more misdirection with Bum Jo lying to grandpa and dad about who DP likes. Now Yoon Yu Rae is going to be super sensitive and difficult, then disappointed.

  43. Rich boy claims to father that Dal Po loves Yoo Rae… AHHH, she’ll take that seriously, I’m waiting for the trouble it will create. Great!

  44. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE so much set up for more irony and disappointment/pain etc. What great writing!

  45. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Now dad hopes that Bum Jo will be the boyfriend and IH will be rich.

Off they go to find places where people will slip on ice and fall down… just to have news to report.

  46. Lee Yoon Bi is very funny as she actually believes the lie that DalPo likes her. Yoo Yoo Rae isnt a likeable character to begin with but when you think about it the actress never puts a foot wrong.

  47. @GB, I have to take time to answer you on the “watching” thread about difficulty to find dramas with great writing. Remind me if I forget.

  48. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Now we get people really falling down and IH cannot stop hiccupping. It goes against her conscience.

  49. They are sharks waiting for a “magnificent fall”. 😀

  50. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I’m feeling it too. The lack of good dramas with fine writing… and lots of irony like PHR’s style.

Well I’ll remind you on MDL if you need a reminder.

  51. An iced stair, OMG, people will kill themselves on that!!!

  52. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE the cold blooded mother knows her daughter well enough to send another team to get the report.

Now a surprise… the soft-spoken Captain scolds IH into understanding how and why she should have allowed people to fall… but I don’t think he really believes his own words. It’s to get her to stop hiccupping so that her mother won’t be cruel towards to her.

  53. @GB: I think the TV channel could be even more popular if the “pinnochio” journalist help people avoid a fall. Very good ads about how this channel is kind.

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Song Cha Ok is the most cold-hearted of mothers. She used her daughter to bring up the ratings for MSC but now is ready to get rid of her because of her conscience.

  55. “I will get rid of her soon”.
    This mother is abominable!

  56. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, well it seems that the news people don’t care about having a kind image.

Now the kind Captain pretends to praise IH loudly to impress Song Cha Ok but she misses the point again. he wants her to at least praise IH when she’s worthy of praise, because all she does is find fault with her.

  57. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Now we have the saga of the brothers… amidst the joke of Yoon Yu Rae thinking that DP likes her, Ki Jae Myung has been stalking DP and now becomes dangerous.

  58. @GB: the argument of captain is quite good: “if you don’t show the bad it does, it won’t prevent people enough and cause more accident”. I like this kind of arguments opposing each other with truth for both of them”.
Mainwhile the brother spy with angryness (now that he knows Dal Po is journalist too).

  59. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Suddenly we go into a DUI scene with a runaway drunk driver. So exciting and of all people, Ki Jae Myung is on the scene, watching the truck driven by the DUI driver about to hit a boy.

He sees the boy looking like Ki Myung and sees his younger brother in him … and smashes his truck to save him… and becomes a hero!!!

Reporters and cameraman are on the scene as well to capture everything. What an exclusive!!

  60. Yoo Rae is so ridiculous at pretending she doesn’t care about Dal Po. Ahah!

  61. I was off looking for the name of the actor who plays the victim rescuee. Since I didnt see the actor’s n ame — I think its Moon Woo Jin, the young actor from the Atypical Family.

  62. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, Yoo Rae is going to be soooo pissed off when she realises that she’s been wrong abou DP liking her. Beom Joo should have told her again later that it was not true!

  63. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I got the name wrong… it was Ki Ha Myung not Ki Myung.

So now another lot of irony is created because the murderer becomes famous as the great hero. Saving the kid … would he have done it if the boy had not looked a bit like his brother? That’s a tough question.

  64. Oh shit. Even the brother is a murderer, he does the very best moral move here. So excatruilinagtying (fukcing english word I’m unable to write, looool).
    CLIFFHANGER on that.

  65. I see looking at both yr comments that this is exactly the problematic of the original reportage on the factory fire and Dal Po’s Mom’s accident.

To be engaged. Or to coldly be just a blank witness, at one with the camera.
The solution is to be human and humane. But everyone must find it for themselves and so the group comes together over the decision.

That is why Manager Song is and was wrong. She is technically a leader but she fails to lead morally.

Whereas her daughter (forced by her affliction) does lead by persuasive example.

  66. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE… you mean excruciating? Yes… it is. Sooo good the paradox that will crop up.

  67. EXCRUCIATING!
Did I get it right @WE?

nailed to the cross m ore or less.

  68. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB, yes … the reporters 13 years earlier did not have to make the story as sensational as they did, or cast blame on the absent father and ruin a family.

What Song Cha Ok did then, she will repeat soon, to her detriment. However there was more to what she did then and soon to do than just make news for news sake.

  69. @IF, yes, it was this damn word! THANKS!!

  70. Men and their hats — drunk guy sneaks back into his truck and runs away from the cops, but before he guns the engine he put his baseball cap firmly on his head. What? He cant drive without it?

  71. The ep to come with the internet nascently picking up on the ‘hero’ hyung, who is actually a murderer.

This one was well-larded with comedy.

Well-larded comes from putting fat into knife slits on a roast, @WE. I know you will ask, albeit not aloud.

  72. Thank you for the party, GB and IF, see you soon !!

  73. The disabled boy wasnt Moon Woo Jin, he only started working in 2017.
    in this show.
And its not Nam Da Reum who plays the young Dal Pro

  74. Bye @WE, see you in two more weeks!

  75. Goodnight @GB! Stay well until we meet again!
