  1. ‘Evening, @GB. All oriented here.

I have been watching the haze reports from your city, as you said there were annual haze problems. A particularly bad year for it, isnt it.

  2. Or is it orientated. I find these new verbs which add a superfluous -at- to older verbs, annoying.

  3. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @IB, yes we’re suffering from the haze here. I’m having flu-like symptoms and it’s likely because of the haze.

Over here we use “orientate” and “orientated” 🙂

I’ve had no time to do a pre-rewatch watch… so I’m going in very luke warm today.

  4. Hi here.
I’ve completed half the pictures of W2 last episode. Two or three more days and it should be done. Too bad I couldn’t make AI pictures from the start, it’s so better than my bad montages or random screenshots I tried to use.

I could do a AI prompt checking english translation. So I’ll maybe not translate again whole kdrama, but could let AI check line by line on previous episodes and report english errors.

  5. Hi GB !!
    Haze (brume) gives flu ?!!

  6. I just finished. A very dramatic episode. It finishes just before big brother sits down for the TV interview. We are at 11 so just at the hinge!

There is a great drunk scene. MM always says there must be a secret class in drunk scenes that all SK a tors take.

  7. Hi IF.
    So we are ready now?
My computer clock had a 5 minutes errors last time.
    I fixed it yesterday.

  8. I wait GB Gooo, because she likes to say GOoo. 🙂

  9. Hi, WE. It is more like the air pollution you see on TV in Delhi every year. Irritation of the lungs is the effect.

There are underground fires in Indonesia this year which are proving very difficult to contain.

  10. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @WE and @IB yes…. START start… I’ve got an urgent thing going on at the same time so I’ll come by again.

  11. Ouchh air pollution. I didn’t know Singapor had that, because it’s right next to the sea.

  12. It replays last cliffhanger.
    Everything’s clear.

  13. Lee Jong Suk acting is damn good. You get that when you push him in high-emotional scenes.

  14. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB thanks for explaining about the haze to @WE. Yes, the pollution is not originating from my place but from another land overseas.

@IB LOL the drunk acting classes. We are in another very dramatic episode… it just gets better.

  15. Wow, what a beginning — the ending from 11 expanded. Lots of complicated camera work on this revelation of the two brothers meeting.

The closeups seem to be hand held camera? lots of movement. lLJS a wonderful weep. really wonderful.

  16. Really, really wonderful.

  17. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE LJS’s crying is first class!!

So much irony in how Jae Myung discovers Ha Myung – only when he roughs up the daughter of the reporter who ruined his family.

Then when he is with family he tells Ha Myung to just be Dal Po.

  18. The pizza with wilted greens opens the episode proper. I admit that my first thought was about the timing of food fads.

Nice way to calm down. Strange to have such an emotional conversation in a restaurant full of people.

  19. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I love how the older reporter saves IH by scolding her into reporting directly to him instead of to the boot-licking reporter. She’s rewarded for speaking the truth.

  20. @GB, and he’s maybe “a pretty guy” but he has a distinctive face. I watched “wonderfools” and confused the actor with the one of Study Group that could also be confused with Rowoon, and maybe some others of the same kind. Daaammmnn, boys or girls, I have enough of the perfect cute flat faces.

  21. My dear KYK/Beom Jo outside in the sun on the station rooftop shouting into the wind that he will stop caring about InAh. “This pathetic one-sided concern”. Of course he cant.

  22. Ruby is better than the second-manager about the investigation on the brother. But it will create problems. Anyway, it’s a PHR drama, so even if there is a reason for revenge, a murder can be let unpunished!

  23. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE True that LJS cannot be mistaken for someone else. All the recent young ‘boys’ are too pretty. Maybe plastic surgery has something to do with how they look alike.

  24. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, so now DP has to prove that he’s going to be a real reporter and to report the truth and turn his brother in. And Ruby thinks the captain and DP have played her out. Poor kid.

  25. I am a little behind still at the pizza restaurant. Dal Po /LJS looks at his bro with the staedy gaze of justice. Makes him admit to murder. The actor who plays the brother has the best role — lots of struggle, closeups.

  26. Yoo-Rae and IH driking Soju.
Is it the famous drinking scene?

  27. Kim Kwang Gyu as Cap! After he fake-scolds InAh in front of Mom he does great acting with his back, he sort of struts off with a little shake!

  28. @Gb, yep, they didn’t have lot of time to be brothers again. The question of surrender is drop right now.

But some revelations are coming from the brother now…

  29. Yes, I think this is a great drunk scene. Yoo Rae shouldnt have left her alone, typical of that little minx.
Beom Jo comes to the rescue reluctantly, heroically restrained, and calls DP.

The rolling around drunkenly in bed at home and Dad’s reaction is the real icing on the cake of the whole segment!

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

We get the flashback on how Song Cha Ok kept Jae Myung from being with his family when the mum decided to kill herself and Ha Myung.

Then it’s Ha Myung’s turn to blame himself instead of anyone else for his mother’s death. Because he did not search for his brother and give him some hope.

  31. Yoo-Rae will talk about her fictive relationship with DP ?? It will be fun… (she’s ready to puke with the garbage bag at her neck, LOL, a real pro of binge driking).

But we get nothing, as IH is asleep after. I suppose we’ll get that into a flashback? “Promise something, don’t give it now, hook us, give it later” kind of writer trick.

  32. I came forward about the drunk scene but am actually finishing the meeting about topics. The reporter who feels he owes DP lets him not report his Brother’s culpability? Kind of cool but plain wrong.

So DP must convince his brother to surrender to the police.

  33. A drunk girl asleep, two boys.
Who will do the piggy back walking?

Waaah, no suspens, rich boy surrender, DP does it, but it’s not the classic piggy back when she tells a lot (unless we see it later in a flashback).

  34. The whole interaction in the hall when Yoo Rase protests abt having her assignment taken away, it is cut short by the cool reporter doing one of those ‘hyah!’ yells at Yoo Rae. Those yells are meant to shut down the underling. I like her punch-in-the-air reaction after he leaves.

  35. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Got more urgent stuff to reply to… will be back.

  36. And Yoo Rae has an even more exaggerated wake-up scene! under a newspaper in the tip line office.

  37. She can’t lie, but if someone ask her the truth, she can still say she won’t tell it!!!

AH. First Piggy Back flashback. (very short, writer hook us, wanting us to want the following, argh! UNFAIR, be as good as PHR can do it).

I wonder if there will be “flashback into flashback, like IH telling to DP what she talk with Yoo Rae).

  38. Yoo Rae really knits the segments together, she eavesdrops in the tipline room and then inadvertently tips off DP about his brothers appearance woth Reporter Song.

  39. I have to say, Big brother pretending to be a tipster is very cool.

  40. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB yeah Dad scenes are the funny ones. I like Dad in the frilly apron.

She can’t lie, so DP lies for her.

  41. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Yeah I love how Yoo Rae is watched by a whole bunch of reporters … I wonder what that room is that the reporters from different stations all gather in.

  42. Piggy back flashback turns to be very dramatic, and it’s not the girl talking, it’s DP !!!

  43. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I like the added twist of the ‘witness’ who tips off DP about where Moon Duk Sun is and who saw the murder.

  44. It could be done in real time, but PHR chose the delayed emotion of IH remembering, mixed with DP flashback with brother “could you take revenge”. We see a bit how PHR manage and structure information and emotion to create linked moments (it couldn’t happen before the two brother meeting).

Then it chains with a break-up scene, some logical consequence. With a sad song and IH sincere (not hipcups).

  45. Thanks WE. So in between the first receipt of the tip and picture of the sewerhole under bricks until the point where DP shows that tip to the cool reporter is one slippery set of flshbacks? Somehow they makes sense. Except that the big brother, when DP stops his truck, seems surprised that DP has received that text…so soon?

I am confused about where the park meet between brothers happens. In the show it is in the hours before the interview? And the discovery of the body in the manhole is afterwards?

Oh well, it all makes emotional sense. We slowly figure out that DP has convinced his brother to surrender himself.

  46. Now DP is ready for whole truth: reveal his brother AND crushes IH mother.

It’s me or this episode is damn intense?? 😀

  47. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE Episode is very intense so we become intense too!!!

I’ve still got more than 10 minutes to watch.

  48. @IF, the writer consider any episode (maybe even more than one at a time) like emotional puzzle, wondering how and when dropping information and scenes (thanks to flashbacks).

Thanks to her experience and talent, she probably can do it during planning phase, and get a first draft quite good (without needing many rewrites). Myself I could get a bit in first draft, but I had to do a full rewriting to be able to do this kind of things.

We go in the CLIFFHANGER, happening in this same place already used with a bench (piggy back flashback) then Brothers next meeting. And finaly this cliffhanger scene. This place summarizes all the biggest various revelations and decisions done.

  49. the same park? Wow.

  50. @IF, yes, we don’t get it first because in flashback it’s night, and later day, and characters in different place. But in first brother meeting, we get a quick shot of the director on the bench. In Cliffhanger they are at the very end of the park, the director shot symbolize how distant they are now.

  51. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE yes, such great flashback storytelling. Jumping back and forth from day to night. It was hard to keep track but all done so smoothly for us.

  52. @GB, I went off to get some pork stew and rice, and I am back to lend an ear as you finish.

If not I hope all is well.

Bye the bye @WE, why was the title pof the episode a Midsummer Night’s dream? All the chaos at night?
Yoo Rae waking up like Bottom?
Or was that In Ah, worrying about what she had done whilw drunk…

  53. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @IB, thanks. I actually completed the show some minutes ago but had to attend to other things. The build up to the end where both the brother are going to be on air (and it seems to be at the same time?!?! One hailed as a hero by his enemy whom he will denounce on air… and one who will reveal him as a murderer on air. Too delicious!!!

  54. I feel I must go start 12 NOW. Cant wait.
    While I wait for you.

  55. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Bye @IB and @WE! I’ve got a runny nose and have to get up early tomorrow so I’m off to bed! See you next week!!

  56. Oh, there you are! Well, then we are all done!

    Bye @WE, Byue @GB!
    Until next week.

  57. Bye bye, see you soon.

@GB: episodes have titles, and I just put that under the carpet. Probably they have a kind of thematic, not so strong than in Start-up or Castaway Diva, but something to think about. I missed all the titles, so can’t say more about that.
