Hi @pkml3, much thanks for remembering to open this thread. I’ve only got little bits of time for show watching now, so I’m sticking to re-runs of weekly episodic shows.

This rewatch is such a delightful break from all the other stuff!!!

  2. Hi here. Yep the drama is good, and as it starts this new episode is exciting.

Last week I did something huge, I completed all pictures for last 12 episodes of W2 and put everything online! Last episode has more than 100 pictures. Only episode like that, but as the last one, it deserves a special effort.

I was thinking taking a break and watch dramas (started Bona Fide Killer), but I’m so motivated that I spent mostly my freetime at working on the script with Grok AI help (their new version is better than any other AI currently, it’s crazy).

I did a protocol for fixing grammar errors in french (well, I had some, or sometimes I forget even a verb “she the door” instead of “she opens the door”, but it’s so natural to read that you even don’t see it while proofreading, the brain is something about completing and creating illusions. So I get like 30 typos to correct per episode, what’s not that big. I have still 24 episodes to check.

I did a protocol about fixing english translation, with at least 3 proposals per errors, complete explanation (I can improve my english then), then choose what is best to fix a line. There, it’s slow. I do it episode per episode too, and I have to fix manually in the script. I could make only 7 episodes. I focus on 12 last ones first, then I’ll check up all episodes. (Ah, I still did first one).

  3. Hi @GB and @WE!

  4. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @WE! Well congratulations on completing your W2 script and getting all the pictures for your last episode. I’m assuming the AI helped you with those too.

I find that AI really shortens the time it takes to do research and look up things. The only problem is that it makes me lazier!!!

  5. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @IB! It’s time to start NOW!!!

  6. Hi IF and GB.

@GB: yeah, AI pictures are so good. In short it’s like my older photo montages, but better done with a coherent context. I can use it also for anything else even without characters (an explosion, a building, a landscape, etc). I’m not sure I’m really winning time, it’s long to generate (many tries before getting the right one, or at least, good enough one).

  7. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

This episode has so much that pulls at the heartstrings. It’s so good.

I like the scene where the brothers speak to each other on the phone… camera pulls back so we see them on 2 sides of the screen, with divergent paths. Jae Myung is on the part where the path is a bit crooked, while Ha Myung is on the straight path. Pity the editor cut that scene … it was shown twice but was pretty quick and easy to miss.

  8. Title of episode is “la flute enchantée”. In english is it “enchanted flute”?

  9. I have started already, I like the pre-title sequence so much. But somewhere along the line Ha Myoeng has to have already prepared for that night’s broadcast, presumably with help from the ‘informant’. Not important really I guess since it flows, but Ha Myeong will have to dash about madly to get ready?

  10. Yes the enchanted flute like Mozart.

  11. @GB: yes it’s a good shot from directing.
When I’m on forum something makes me crazy with rage, people asking “is this old drama worth it to watch in 2026”, like people are fashion victims. As if new dramas were better, the just have better filter colors that’s all. Even with older cameras, all in the hands of a good director. A shot like you mention doesn’t cost a lot to do, no need big budget, just talent. So new dramas can put any beautiful colors, as long as there isn’t good script and talentuous director to tell a story, it won’t be worth it.

  12. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE “The Magic Flute” I just looked it up… very appropriate title.

AI tells us: “The Point (The Core Message) of The Magic Flute… the triumph of light, reason, and wisdom over darkness and ignorance.

The story shows a personal journey toward self-improvement and maturity. Prince Tamino and the bird-catcher Papageno face trials that test their character, patience, and honesty. The core message is that true wisdom, love, and enlightenment are not given easily; they must be earned through courage, steadfastness, and moral commitment. It also shifts the perspective from a simple black-and-white battle to a deeper realization that things (and people) are not always what they first appear to be.”

  13. Damn, I’m in a kind of energetic mood today, I start with a rant. LOL!! 😀

I have to go back in the scene because I missed the dialog.

  14. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB, yes Ha Myung and brother got together for the interview before the night’s news exclusive. We will see a scene of it later.

  15. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE so true about new shows… they just look nicer but often lack soul and the thoughtful camerawork that I really appreciate… that is when I can catch views of them!

  16. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB Hah! Jae Myung is going to destroy Song Cha Ok on live TV. So delicious a revenge, and so above the law.

  17. IH mother chose only a part of the truth, an interview cut. It’s really damn journalist work like do most of them now in mass medias to hide the turth.

  18. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, yes, this show is so current because that’s precisely what we are getting in our news. Edits that make us think A when the truth is actually B. So much lying going on by what is shown and what is hidden.

  19. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I love how JM points out that SCO is doing the exact same thing… she has not changed. Just as she made his dad a villain, she is making him a hero when he’s a murderer. This it truly painful revenge… he has to crash in order to bring his enemy down.

And the best hit is that he advertises YGN News instead!!!

  20. And BANG, the brother reveals the truth about him before cameras. It’s probably the most sympathic murderer we ever get in a drama. T T

  21. And not just the official news. Private persons editing their own ‘citizen videos’ to sell of get clicks.

One is afraid to stand out in public in anyway.

  22. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE Woah, Ha Myung looks so suave with hair slicked back!

He reports live exactly at the time Song CO is doing alive interview with his brother… what are the odds this could ever be reproduced so coincidentally. Such treat timing by the Writer-nim.

And we get the flashbacks to see how the interviews took place.

  23. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB It’s so stirring to hear him say his own name on live TV … what a shock for grandpa and IH’s dad… their Dal Po is no more!!

  24. @IF, if you are about to be filmed and interviewed by a journalist, first you need to come with your own cameraman to shoot the whole thing too. So you can still publish it on the internet, in case the journalist is unfair (well, “in case”, no, they will be).

Crying scene, two brothers say goodbye in front of the cops. The cop friend ask “let them more time”, little detail we like.

  25. Here, we get this good old classic scene where emotion really HITS !!! AAAHhh!! It’s the kind of dramas I want to only watch!!!!

  26. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, yes this murderer is the most sympathetic…even the police give the brothers such a long time to say goodbye. So painful.

We get to see the reactions… Song CO has a tantrum by herself, the brothers meet for the last time outside of prison.

I like how this Writer brings in everyone she introduced in the beginning. It’s Ahn Chan Soo from DP’sschool days who is the policeman who will get the credit for this arrest.

  27. @GB, yep, we already talked about that, reusing characters over the drama gives more depth, context and coherence. We are not lost in a perpetual unknow. 😉

  28. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE @IB love the way these men cry… oh the pinky swear!!! I tear up as well. Such a sad goodbye. The emotional stuff is so well done. The music swells and lowers according to whether there’s dialogue and we see the police waiting patiently. This scene unlike the telephone one has the brothers close together and no longer on separate paths.

  29. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE @IB Next emotional scene is saying goodbye to grandpa and dad… they cannot even look at him. They now realise what stress and pain DP had suffered for years, and they understand why.

I like that dad changes after this.

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB in the end the difficult dad wants HM to stay. But he feels bad for his brother and does not think he should stay to enjoy life with the Chois. He denies himself happiness in solidarity with his brother in prison. One of those strange things that turns up in kdramas, and maybe cdramas too.

They cannot come out of their rooms to say goodbye to HM.

  31. DP has to leave home, because of his promise, he can’t spare IH mother. High inner conflict. EVERYBODY CRY !! ahah!

  32. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

So much given up in order to take revenge on Song CO. The family loses a family member, the couple has to break up, the brother has to go to jail.

Then we see the family photos that are left behind or put up for display. HM brings his many pink piggy banks to his new home LOL.

  33. Ahn Chan Soo to his boss, “Thoughtless and a bit shallow”.
That anger and jealousy and suspicion of everyone else. Not just in SK.

  34. @IF, yes, small scene, but good depth for Chan Soo character. The writer forget nothing and no-one!

  35. @GB, oh I missed the piggybanks! Thanks! But I am surprised that any survived being slashed open without surgery!

  36. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB I love that Ahn Chan Soo remembers how thoughtless he’d been as a teen himself LOL.

  37. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB he brought all the piggy banks so he must have patched up the slashed ones.

Hah! those MSC reporters were too much… the YGN ones came to stop them from filming HM.

  38. First thing I liked about Lee Jung Suk (watch first I hear your voice) is a feeling of transparency, as if emotions are natural and transparent on his face. I was stunned when I saw actor interview (or various press conference), you couldn’t even think this guy’s able to act, he’s always awkward and clumsy. He’s really a strange guy, but anyway amazing actor.

  39. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB @WE, now we have the painful scene with IH. She is not supposed to bother about him…there is no rain however there is snow!!! For once it’s another romantic snowing scene, but one that shows on the outside what HM is feeling on the inside. He looks quite unwell.

  40. Bathroom scene: fighting scene with mother and daughter. No mercy! The mother has a hard time. IH isn’t easy opponent, and anything she says hits x2 harder because as she’s a Pinocchio, you know she can’t pretend, you get the truth full in your mug!!!

  41. It is well-done that Song Cha Ok continues to try to use her personal skills at manipulation to cow our couple and others under her. Until she finally has to biw before her bosses.

  42. @WE, about LJS, yes, 1000x.

  43. Cha Ok is ruby? She’ll use same means as IH mother, cutting, doing montage, and destoy her like that (unfair, but there is irony into it).

  44. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Comeuppance settles upon Song CO… her daughter despises her as a ‘killer’ too and Ruby/Yoo Bi starts an online cafe that will continue the downfall of Song CO. In the end, the brothers did not need to do much to keep the revenge going on.

  45. Ooops mistake, I was talking about the young girl (Ruby). Cha Ok is IH mother. My bad.

  46. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, but you did have a point … Ruby is doing what Song CO did but now she’s using social media and is not exactly fraudulent but she is playing up what is unfavourable towards Song CO.

  47. The question now: can you make IH mother feel guilty or is she too much a psychopath? I bet for the guilty, BUT it will be a LONG way. 😉

  48. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

And so the troubles pile up for Song CO… the bus company owner is still doing a 1-man protest to get an official apology from her.

She cannot sue him for defamation. She never checked the death cert of the man who died ie she falsely reported that he had committed suicide when he had not.

Now her Captain also steps in to prevent her from using the reporter friend from working secretly for her. Best comeuppance is that her daughter is to report against her own mother.

And even HM, her enemy will be on her case.

  49. Very funny! Beom Jo chickens out after visualizing a disastrous confession of the cellphone messsages. But Oh Well, lucky him, IA already forgave the deed.

  50. How cruel: the chief want to use IH to turn her mother into clean state!! Gosh. I can’t believe it will turn out like that. But in a kdrama, you never know.

  51. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I feel that Song CO only felt pain but not guilt. She was not really sorry, although I can’t remember… she sort of apologised maybe. She had shouted at IH before saying she had done nothing wrong.

  52. Interesting that both pairs of cub reporters team up for the investigation into the mom of one and the Mom’s murderous words which ruined the life of another in the group.

    What will the truth be?

  53. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB I like that this show includes ‘imagined’ scenes and we see how the reality plays out. Only dad and Beom Joo get these imagined scenes.

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I like that the lawyer of Jae Myung – slow and clumsy, is someone we’ve met before in I Hear Your Voice. The end music sounds like that show’s music too.

  55. Rich guy is incapable to meet a woman in his whole life, he should just marry his mother. 😀

  56. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB while one set of mother and child are on opposite sides, we see the BJ and his mum are so pally.

  57. @GB, I didnt watch the lawyer scene yet, but just the dialog made me think about that!! ahah!

  58. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    @WE LOL… marry his mother!!!

Love that IH’s hard Hi-5 slaps is to be transplanted to BJ’s face.

He still can’t get to confess that he stole her texts.

  59. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE @IB it’s so good that 4 rookie reporters get to work together on a case, share out the workload and meet up to share info.

Another scene between HM and IH.

  60. @GB, eventually, it can make a kdrama called “Marry my mother”, with a time-travel plot. 🙂

  61. IH mother click click click her pen. But best cliking pen scene is from King2hearts, episode 2 (what I call “Stanley Kubrick”‘s like scene).

  62. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE oh now!!! Another drama plot gets twisted in your brain!!

HM gets to interview Song CO. I wonder how she could scream at him in the canteen and no one looked up to see what the commotion was about.

  63. @GB, maybe the script missed:
    “Everybody here, …!!!” 😀

  64. So this confrontation (won by DP) is cliffhanger.

  65. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE @IB I like how after the heart wrenching moments we end off with something positive.

We get to see a familiar lawyer in the preview at the end.

  66. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, yes, an interesting way to end but we look foward with anticipation and not dread for the next episode. HM smiles … so rare in this show.

  67. A lot of this episode was about our and the characters’ reaction to the truth coming out.
Lots of emotional confrontations. I just cant forget Grandpa crying in his numbered sweater.

  68. Bye @WE and @GB, Until we meet again.

  69. @IF, Bye! I’m going too, bye @GB !
    See you soon.

  70. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Bye @IB and @WE!!
