Love O2O: Episode 22 Highlights

1. Weiwei prepares lunch for Nai.

I mentioned this already, right? She’s learning to do the housewifely stuff for Nai. Or maybe she’s just feeding him like she feeds the pet tigers online. lol. He’s a carnivore anyway.

Mozarta: Since Third-Sis-in-Law’s been around, Nai has become so pampered. When he was too busy to eat lunch, he’d just eat buns with water. Now, he’s got everything.
Old Man: So pampered.
Weiwei: He’d only eat buns and water?
Old Man: You have no idea. Sometimes, he’d even skip the buns. Look at how it pains her!
Weiwei: I’ve also noticed that he isn’t very picky with food. He asked me to bring him fried rice. That’s not nutritious enough. I’ll handle his nutritionally balanced diet now. Paired with a juice from the heart, he’ll have food and drink. It’s 100% nutritionally balanced.
Mozarta: Help! All this showing off is making me gag.

There’s another interesting here that happened during lunch. It’s about nicknames.
Mozarta wonders why she never calls him “Mr. Hao” like she does with Mr. K.O. She answers that if she did that, Dashen would kill her. He asks, “Why?”

And Yugong explains for her, “Mr. Hao, ‘hao’ means ‘more’…” And both Yugong and Weiwei wave their hands in front of Mozarta jokingly.

Now I don’t get that but according to kissasian, “Mr Hao” sounds like “fond of”.

He tells them not to call him that because if they do, Nai will NOT kill her, but he will kill HIM instead.

lol. Nai’s friends know that Nai would kill them first before touching Weiwei in anger. But it’s also interesting that Weiwei expected Nai to get annoyed if she called his friend an “overly-friendly” name.

2. Giving Nai his packed lunch

She tells Nai that they ran out of fried rice so she packed him some veggies, beef and rice instead. He asks for water and she takes out the juice for him.

Nai: Why are you so attentive today?
WW: Attentiveness is in my nature.

Nai just looks at her.

WW: I can’t have dinner with you tonight. (lol. Is this her motive then for being extra nice?) Diemeng invited me to dinner. She treated me last time. It’s my turn this time.
Nai: Is that so? You’re not just avoiding our swimming class?
WW: You read too much into it, Mr. Xiao.
Nai: If so, let’s go tomorrow. (she sighs.) Alright, go to your dinner. It’ll rain though so don’t get rained on.

WW: Yes sir. Remember to drink the juice of love I got you. Bye!

And he smiles at the tater tot she packed.

3. Weiwei’s online guild meets her the first time

I rewatched this episode for:

the stunned look on the gamers when they saw Weiwei. She was jaw droppingly beautiful.

and her Ex’s dismay when SHE challenged him to a game instead. Weiwei was like,

She didn’t know it was her online Ex, but even when she found out, she didn’t cut him any slack.

I laughed because she wouldn’t try this kind of condescending tone (and coarse language) with Xiao Nai and Nai wouldn’t have tolerated it either.

Remember in Episode 14 when she said that she would “beat the guys” up and Nai corrected her with a simple clearing of his throat and a firm “Weiwei.” She changed her words, “I mean, duel them.”

4. Nai picks her up.

They’re all surprised to see her handsome boyfriend. Diemeng detains her with a hand on her shoulder, “Weiwei, why don’t you ask your boyfriend to join us. It’s a rare opportunity.” She removes the hand and tells her, “No, he’s an introvert. He doesn’t like strangers.”

Then, Nai approaches her and, without acknowledging any of them, brings Weiwei with him.

Mean Girl: Hey! Your girlfriend has had many in-game husbands. Did you know that?

Weiwei stops to look back at her. Nai holds her arm as if to tell her not to respond. They look at each other.

Mean Girl: She’s a home-wrecker, always a flirt with men. Everyone her knows she’s a woman of ill repute. (I like how she’s projecting.) Handsome, don’t be fooled by her.

Weiwei bites her lips as if she’s controlling herself from answering back.

Nai: As long as she’s willing to be with me, none of that matters.

And he wraps an arm around her and leads her away.

  1. We can’t leave this blog of Love O2O without a comment! LOL!

I thought that juice that she gave to Dashen with his lunch must be something really special because it had a lot of screen time.

WeiWei knows how protective Nai is of her so it’s good she knows about the name calling. hehehe

I thought she was great at that meeting and to beat all the girls in their own game. It irritated me too about their comment to our couple as they were leaving the party, that’s what you call jealousy.

I loved Dashen Nai’s comeback to what they said, it can never be matched by any other words and the meaning of it says it all about how much he loves WeiWei. Swoon!

  2. True. We can’t leave a post without a comment. 😂

Yes, that bottle of juice had a special appearance. It was cheesy the way she said that it was a drink given with her affections. I thought that HE sensed right away that she was buttering him up. 😂🤪

But yes, I like that Weiwei and Older Brother could agree on the puns. They have something in common.

I’ll be home tomorrow so I can write longer. This is the last day of my business trip so I’ll have time this afternoon to take pictures.

  3. Cool! Enjoy the scenery then and take lots of pictures. Have a safe trip back. 😊

Guess what I’m doing? I’m actually rewatching Love O2O again from the start. ☺️ With your insights and analysis I’m enjoying and appreciating it much more 😍

After He’s Psychometric, I think I’ll wait a bit before starting another drama. I might wait for Her Personal Life to finish before I start it so I don’t need to wait every week.

  4. Same here. I want happy drama now.

  5. How’s the Oh My General drama that you’re watching?

  6. Blah.

The concept is novel but the side plots are too boring. It would have been better if it was condensed to 20 episodes. But 60? That’s 40 episodes wasted on irrelevant characters. But I get it. With a production like this, they need to hire more actors to ensure more viewers. Like an all-star cast. And all those extra actors will require characters, speaking parts, etc.

  7. Thanks @packmule3 for opening it again. I think my comment below belongs here and no where else. LOL.

That’s a pity that they had to make it 60 episodes then. The Nice To Meet You drama that I watched should have been ok with 40 I reckon, not 53. But otherwise I really enjoyed watching it. The romance is definitely there and good kissing. 😉 The main couple has great chemistry too that’s why I got hooked. The whole family angst worked for me and I felt the pain of the characters even if it’s not anything new. I think I liked this especially because the Grandma plays a vital role in everyone’s lives.

Anyway I want you to please watch this only when you have time ok. Just watch the first 2 episodes and tell me what you think. 😉 Thank you! Let me know if I need to bribe you ok. 😜
