Falling in Love with You is the Best Thing I Have Ever Done: Yang Yang’s Next Drama???

4/4/2020 Updated news here: When is it showing?

Falling in love with you is the best thing I have ever done.

Please, director and screenwriter, could you please choose a title that doesn’t read like the closing sentence of a fanfiction?

But I’ll gladly overlook the title if you can deliver this Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang project in the shortest time possible. I’ve been waiting for their reunion since…since…well…since I finished my last review of Love O2O. Ha!

Zheng Shuang plays the hotel manager, Shen Xi Fan. She has a tough act to follow because, in my mind, IU’s Manwol is the quintessential “stressed out” hotel proprietress. Manwol had to deal with ghosts with grudges.

Yang Yang is her attending physician, He Su Ye.

40 episodes are slated.
The director is the same one who worked with them on Love O2O.
Scheduled release: 2020

Here’s the synopsis from mydramalist:

Shen Xi Fan is a hotel manager and workaholic. Because of her high-intensity work, she suffers from headaches. She goes to the General Hospital and meets the gentleman physician, He Su Ye. The first time speaking to each other is so wonderful and warm. He Su Ye tells Shen Xi Fan that she needs to reduce her stress and get more rest in order to recover from her headaches. As He Su Ye tells her not to be so hard, don’t make herself so tired, his words and look are so gentle, Shen Xi Fan can see him as boyfriend material. As well, a move and faint smile from Shen Xi Fan makes He Su Ye deeply fascinated by her.

Shen Xi Fan still works overtime and and continues to get headaches that send her to the hospital, where she continues to see He Su Ye as her attending physician, and each time, he is slowly falling for her. Their relationship gets better and better with the two continuing to be fascinated by each, that it is logical for the two to walk together.

I shouldn’t get my hopes up till I’ve seen the promotional flyers. This sounds too good to be true. And the title looks too verbose to be true.

Truth be told, I just want him (and Zheng Shuang) to have a good project. I don’t want him to be a one-hit wonder — like Johann Pachelbel who’s known for “Canon in D” and nothing else.

Sorry, Pachelbel!

  1. Oooohhhh 2020 is it? BRING IT ON PLEASE PLEASE DRAMA GODS!!! 🙏🙏🙏

I’ve never seen the synopsis before so thanks ☺️ They took the Best out of our Best Boyfriend Ever but what a looooong title 😄

Agree! I don’t want Yang Yang to be a one hit wonder too. Hopefully he can be more versatile as well with this next character. But oh if he is my Doctor, I’ll be sick once a month if not twice. 😂

Safe trip! Feeling extra blessed tonight because my boys was altar server to confirmation mass tonight with Archbishop Of Sydney, Anthony Fischer. ☺️

  2. Hahaha. I just walked in the door and I’m ready to crash in bed. But your enthusiasm is contagious, @agdr03. 😆

Yes, if he’s the doctor, his nurse will have a hard time stopping patients from undressing on the spot.

Your son’s an altar server? 👏👏 Good job, mom! ✝️

My sons were altar servers, too. They served regularly all the way from elementary school to high school and occasionally in college. Then they graduated and became readers.

I don’t think they’ll become deacons though although our priest did ask….

They used to wake up at an ungodly hour to serve on feast days and Sundays for the early morning mass. Even when there was snow in the winter, they couldn’t be late. My husband or I accompanied them.

But they never served for an Archbishop before. 🙂 There must have been more “ceremony” to be mindful of, like the incense, switching the mitre for the cap, handing him the staff, etc. What was your son’s duty for the mass?

Mind you, my sons served during the height of that priests’ sexual abuse scandal here in the US. Not a few family friends questioned our decision to let them serve as altar boys.

And I reasoned that evil men were definitely in the church. But there was no way I’d leave my church because of their despicable acts. In fact, it was exactly the time for good people to step up and clean house. And we were Catholic because we believe in the goodness of God and the truth of Christ, not in the sins of men and women. Nonbelievers don’t get that, unfortunately.

To walk away would be giving up the fight to reform the church and rid them of these pedophiles. It would be like ceding a hospital to the mental patients because it’s a tiresome job to deal with the illness. Or giving up on public high schools because there are so many more pedophile teachers in the classroom than pedo priests in churches.

So we stayed and my sons served in church. 🙂

  3. Your a good mom too! 👍🏻😉 I hope and pray that my boys too will continue to serve until they finish high school and maybe become a reader. I’m a reader too for years now. Sometimes the boys and I serve in the same mass. ☺️ My youngest will start HS next year. They’ve been serving for over 3 years now and I feel they still love doing it. They were teasing me that their hands were holy because the Archbishop shook their hands when he said thank you to them. 😄 Our Parish Priest knows them pretty well so he asks for them in special occasions.

Yes, tonight’s confirmation mass was special and the only mass with the Archbishop. If I had known which mass he would celebrate then I would have chosen tonight instead of this coming Sunday for my youngest son’s confirmation but then they wouldn’t have that special service with the Archbishop, so all good. ☺️

My eldest son had to carry his crosier during mass when his not using it and my youngest served him with the water and bread/lemon to wash his hands after putting the chrism oil and before he did the prayers over the bread and wine. There was definitely a lot of incense at mass.

Their practice took over 1 hour with the Archbishop’s assistant priest last Tuesday. I said to them before going it might be at the most 30 minutes but I was wrong 😄

True about evil in the church, we have a recent one in our Cardinal. 😞 But for me as much as it’s disheartening and sad, I just pray more for the people that’s affected by it and for God to heal them and of course the church. I agree too that if we walk away, who would clean it? So me too, I’m glad we’re still Catholic Christians. ☺️

  4. I can’t be a lector in church. I’m afraid lightning would strike me down dead while I’m reading. But sinners like me (hahaha) can always help in church according to their skill sets so I work in the background.

I’m sure the practice would be long. I’m sure they didn’t really believe you when you said it would only take half an hour. the explanation alone would have taken a good 10 minutes, and then the first walk-through would take 30 minutes, and after that, there’s a dry-run.

But they’re still luckier because they’re following the Roman rites. 🙂 Have they been to an Eastern rite? I attended a couple of masses at a Maronite Catholic church and oh my goodness! their regular mass was longer than our Christmas Eve or Easter Vigil mass. And the congregants were standing a whole lot more than they were sitting. We’re spoiled!

Crozier! Yes, so that’s what it’s called. I was thinking of a shepherd’s crook but I knew there was a more elegant and official term for it.

We had a priest who loved doing incense at mass and the fire alarm was triggered a couple of times. lol. The fire truck and ambulance came during mass. So finally, a decision was made a) to move the censer stand away from the fire alarm and b) to put in just a small amount of charcoal so the incense wouldn’t burn profusely while not in use for the mass.

But the head altar server needed to remember to add more charcoal during the homily so it wouldn’t die.

It’s interesting what my boys learned from being altar servers. It’s like an entirely arcane world. For instance, when they were young, they would always mix up who should walk down the aisle first — the candle bearers or the cross bearer. For me and the kids, it makes logical sense that the candle bearers should walk first so the cross bearer would “see” the way and not stumble. lol. But the priest explained that nooooo! The cross bearer has to come first because God has always been there from the beginning and He was the one who created light.

And I felt stupid then. There was meaning in all the actions and words done and spoken in the mass.

But my sons have hilarious stories, too, like their encounters with the “indecisive” communicants. I don’t know how you do it in Australia, but here in the US, the communicants have a choice to either receive the Host on their hands or on directly their tongues. The altar servers would then follow suit and hold the paten (or that plate to catch any falling pieces of the Host or an accidentally dropped Host) either under the hands or under the chin.

My sons said that, after time, they’ve come to recognize the “indecisive” parishioners who would simultaneously stick out their tongues AND hold out their hand. As you can expect, their indecision caused MIXED signals. Therefore, my sons said they made the call to stick the paten under the communicant’s hands. They said that “under the hand” was better than “under the chin” because they didn’t want to startle the absent-minded communicant with a “head-chopping” or head-slicing motion with the paten.

Ask your sons about their stories. They’re all part and parcel of their memories that they’ll regale their own kids with.

I’ll pray for your son’s Confirmation, too. 🙂

  5. Good morning! 😊 So sorry I’m only replying now. I went to sleep after my reply to you. Thanks for the prayers for my son’s Confirmation tomorrow. 😍 I think I’ve organised everything now except for the weather, it’s going to be 29 degrees. 😬 It’s only spring here but this is Oz.

I was laughing when you said thunder would strike you if you read at church because of your sins 😄 How grave are they? 😆 Isn’t it, the fact that your helping the church is already atoning for them? ☺️ I’ve been asked to be an acolyte and I’m the second woman if I accept it but I’m not sure I can do it yet. I think I’ll need another 5 years before I can be confident. 😊

Oh I’m not sure I’ve attended a Maronite Catholic Mass but we’ve attended a Greek Orthodox wedding once and that was long and a lot of standing up yes. I agree, I think we are spoiled as Roman Catholics.

Archbishop Fischer definitely loves to use incense too. The Assistant Priest made specifics about it at the practice. I can imagine that fire alarm always setting off at your church 😄 Reminded me of the office building we have, when we first moved in there was a few fire alarms and we heard the other people from other companies in the building say that it’s because of toasting bread 😄

I loved that meaning about the cross going first at mass instead of the candles. I didn’t know it too and it made total sense. It’s good to be told and know the truth. ☺️ My eldest usually carries the cross because his taller so my youngest always carries the candle.

In here we do not have the altar server to hold a paten for the communicants, so me as a Eucharistic Minister needs to be very careful right? They either receive the Host by hands or by mouth. 😊

  6. Growing Beautifully (GB)

@agdr03 Congratulations to your son and I’m praying for him and all the Confirmants this Sunday too.

LOL… I was a Lector as a child. Long ago, an assistant priest decided that children would make good lectors, and gathered us together. We had an adult ‘train’ us before we could read during Mass. We were the only children’s lectors group for ages.

  7. I really hope this Yang Yang/Zheng Shuang drama does get filmed soon! It will be a dream team reunion again💕

  8. I went to take a look at the Chinese title and unfortunately the English translation is spot on…the Chinese title is exactly that so I’m afraid there’s not going to be much of a chance that it will change. 😂. So unless they change the Chinese title, the English one is going to stay. Bit of a mouthful.

  9. PS Congratulations on your son’s confirmation @agdr03. ❤️

  10. Thanks so much @Growing Beautifully and @nrllee 😍 I’m finally seating down after a very busy day but very blessed and grateful. ☺️

@GB , that would have been nice to see, children reading at mass. ☺️ I’m not sure my boys will be a reader as they are very shy too but maybe they’ll change their mind one day.

@Phoenix , yes please! We need another Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang drama to give us lots of feels and ❤️❤️❤️. 😉

    I’m trying to finish P&P 1995 now.

  11. Just finished watching Love O2O and thank goodness Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang have a drama this 2020 !?! 😍😭

Wanna see a healthier looking Zheng Shuang together with Yang Yang, and for better kisses💋 cuz tbh YY always single-carried their kisses 🙃

I also planned to watch the movie ver. but bcuz of your conparison in another post the plan is cancelled hihi.

I love how Love O2O is so easy to follow, the couple doesn’t have grave misunderstandings, and fluff all over. Their romance worked because somehow they’re on the same footing so lalalalalalala I love it ♥️.

Hoping for their new romantic drama to be even better 🙏🏼

  12. Did you see my collection of Love O2O posts? I’ve compiled all the posts on the top banner of this blog site for easy access.

I’ve been meaning to delete that because it occupies space but I figured there might be late viewers who’d be interested.

The movie was okay. The girl is prettier but she’s too AWARE of her prettiness. That’s not the personality of the female character as written in the novel. And after watching Yang Yang, I couldn’t even remember what the actor did in the movie. Ugh? I guess he rode a bicycle, too??

But heyyy, don’t let me stop you from watching the movie. It’s a free country…errr…free world (unless you’re in Hong Kong. Take care out there, my HK readers!)

  13. I am very excited to see this new Chinese drama. I live in India and I would like to watch this drama. Please let me know when the episodes will be out to watch and also please let me know where I can watch it. I mean in which app. Currently I am using Vikirakuten in which I do watch Chinese dramas but few are not available in it. So please let me know if there is any other app so that I can watch this new drama as well.
