Throwback Thursday: HP Ep 3 Review & Easter Egg

This blog was the first one to point out the significance of coffee in the drama.

You see, in Episode 1, I noticed that Songhwa gave her colleague Dr. Bong “iced Americano,” saying that it should be good enough. In her own words: “It should be good enough. If I get you something better, it’ll make you uncomfortable.” In this context, to make somebody uncomfortable means to impose unwanted/unrequited feelings on somebody. It’s a peculiarity of Songhwa that she associated a simple gesture of giving hot coffee to another person with a declaration of one’s feelings for that person.

In Episode 6, for instance, at 1:01:59, Ikjung walked in with hot coffee for her, and she raised an eyebrow.

Then, here in this episode, I discovered that the featured song of this episode “Aloha” brought up coffee again in its MTV. You should watch it. The link is below.

Also, if you’re a Reply 1988 fan, you know that Deoksun always spoiled Taec with her café au lait.

That’s why FGers began noticing who Songhwa gave coffee to.

Anyway, here was my quick take on Episode 3. Remember now. Unlike you current readers and viewers, I didn’t have the luxury of either foreknowledge or hindsight when I was writing these reviews last year. 🙂

🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

Good job, ladies! I finished skimming through Episode 3 and many of our hunches and theories came true.

1. Ik-Jung’s wife

We knew that she wasn’t living with him because his house had no traces of her. But we also knew that he wasn’t divorced or widowed, otherwise he would have self-identified as a divorcee or a widower at the funeral of Director Ju’s wife.

To me, he was either faking his marriage or his wife was working abroad.

Proof shots!

But the logic was really simple, I said.

If she’s dead, then he should have said, “I’m a widower.” He’ll get bonus points.

If she’s alive, then:
a. they could be divorced. He should have identified with SH and said, “I’m divorced, too.”
b. they could be estranged.
c. she could be working abroad.

If she’s alive, then he shouldn’t be flirting around with girls. 🙂

If none of the above…Meaning, if she’s neither dead nor alive, then she’s imaginary.

As it turned, she was working abroad…in Germany, and she hadn’t been home for a year and a half. That would explain why there were no feminine toiletries in the bathroom and why there was no space reserved for her chair at the kitchen counter.

The SAD part of IJ’s story is that his wife returned home to Korea to ask for divorce. He’d been looking forward to her homecoming so he didn’t expect this demand from her. But the SADDER part of his story is that his wife had been lying to him.

IJ: I know that we’ve been living apart for quite a while, but we made that decision together. Why are you saying…What’s going on? What’s the real reason?
Wife: There’s really no reason. I just felt that it was meaningless to maintain this kind of marriage. Do you mistrust me?

She was asking whether he doubted her and suspected something else was going on.

Later, after his son had an allergic reaction to food he had with his mother, he called the restaurant later to follow up. He learned the truth then.

IJ: …I’d like to find out exactly what he ate. (he begins to describe his son) He’s five years old. I think he ate there with his mom.
Waiter: I remember him. I took their order. Just a moment, please. Oh right. Sir, the salad you took to go to eat at home for dinner probably has peanut dressing, too.
IJ: Did I get…? (that’s when he suspected something that she had brought another man to meet their son.) Right, I did.
Waiter: Yes, you did, sir. I remember you because you and your wife looked so lovely together. (there! That’s when he discovered his wife’s reason for asking for divorce.)
Waiter: (continuing) Your kid was so cute, too. I’m pretty sure I asked you to let me know if you had any food allergies. I apologize. I guess I didn’t communicate that properly.

So…what’s in store for IJ? Divorce and a custody fight.

That’s why I think the SADDEST part of his story is yet to come. If the mother wants to bring her son to Germany with her, he’ll fight that tooth and nail.

It should be obvious to us then the significance of the song “Aloha” that was added on the Playlist in this episode. The song was IJ’s choice, and it was a harbinger of the end of his love and marriage.

Aloha
by Cool

A candle in the dark
A wineglass filled with out promise
I will always stay by your side
And protect you
After all, you believed in me.

I’ll ask only one thing from you.
I’m dreaming to be eternally happy with you.
It doesn’t have to be fancy
I don’t need a perfect life
The only thing I want is you.

Don’t worry. (I believe)
Always (I believe)
I will always remember this moment
In my arms (I believe)
I will make sure your smile lights up forever

Your love is so sweet
You are my everything
I am not saying this because I am happy
To spend our first night together
I will not change
I will only have eyes for you

You’re the light of my life
You’re the one in my life
Even if I lose everything
I won’t regret this
I will always love you
With my everlasting love for you

“From this moment on
The most important person in my life isn’t me but you.
I cannot show my determination with words,
But I love only you.”
Like friends or like couples,
Until my last breath,
I will only love you.”

As we believe we are one
And as we always trust one another
I hope we will comfort each other
In misery and celebrate
Happiness together

I promise (I believe)
When things get hard (I believe)
I will be your protector
When you smile in my arms (I believe)
I will make sure
Your smile lights up forever

2. Dr. Jang, the 3rd year General Surgery resident

Ewww. I don’t like her. Didn’t I say that I’d be annoyed if she ended up as JW’s match?

Proof shot!

I know some posters thought the OTHER resident with the nice bedside manners would be suited for him. But noooo… when he lectured her about doctors doing their best and she stood there with a dumb look on her face, I knew she was going to be star-struck. And that’s the point of the maggot scene: she heeded his advice and did her best, no matter how gross the task was…and JW witnessed it.

I’m outta here, nrllee, if he ends up with her.

3. Thornbirds!

@nrllee and I discussed JW answering God’s call and becoming a priest. I said this writer had tried other love angles in her previous Reply series.

In Reply 1997, it was same age love.
In Reply 1994, it was an oppa/older brother love. (And that’s why this grossed me out because the husband-to-be was like her foster brother.)
In Reply 1988, it was a noona love.(For most of the story, Deoksun treated Taec like a noona.)

So “Thornbirds” was left.

“Thorn Birds” is a novel by Colleen McCullough about this Australian woman (hahaha. @nrllee and @agdr03 should know about this) who had this decades-long liaison with a priest. The priest was played by Richard Chamberlain in the TV adaptation.

Proof shot.

Unfortunately, it’s that ugly Dr. Jang who’s in love crushing on JW.

Gagging GIFs - Get the best GIF on GIPHY

But of course, smart bitches like us can see through this, right?

If JW is being set up by the screenwriter with Dr. Jang, THEN Songhwa must necessarily be set up with her own resident doctor… Captain Ahn.

(lol. Did you notice that he and JW shared the last name, too?? So confusing…)

4. Captain Ahn

We called it here!  We sensed that he was going to be an addition to the husband hunt when he studiously ignored Songhwa while she massaged her feet and then smiled at her from behind his mask during the surgery.

Proof shot.

5. The Shoes

We knew the shoes were going to be important.

@kokodus pointed it out. She said it could be one of the four guys or Captain Ahn who was crushing on her.

lol. As a veteran of this husband-hunting game, she would know the style of this screenwriter. Gifts aren’t just innocently given, they must be given by secret admirers. It’s one of this writer’s favorite tropes. In Reply 1988, for instance, Deoksun got in hot waters with her husband because the chocolate she intended for him was stolen by JungBong. (Link to my explanation of the chocolate mystery.)

Proof shot.

To avoid unnecessary fanwars, I told her to let the story develop on its course.

6. Captain Ahn’s gift

And @nrllee’s “fleeting” thought proved right on the money! She correctly guessed that Capt. Ahn gave the shoes because he observed Songhwa rubbing her feet.

Mind you, I’m not vehemently opposed to Capt Ahn being paired off with Songhwa as I am at the idea that Dr. Jang will end up with JW.

That girl’s whey face just ticks me off.

7. Her new shoes

Called it!

We knew the shoes meant the beginning of a new chapter in her life. She already fulfilled her promise to work hard and become the best doctor that she could ever be. So now, it’s time for new promises…and a marriage vow is a promise isn’t it? (Just like entering the priesthood is a vow. too.)

And here’s the last proof shot.

We should also pay attention to the song she was singing on the way to the campsite.

I’ll go somewhere really far
I’ll travel until the sun goes down
I’ll start afresh
For myself.

It fits exactly with what we said about her new shoes.

And yes, I agree with @nrllee. She was beating her steering wheel like a drum and using the pretzel as her drumstick. She reminded us of JW because she was mirroring his drumming.

For the Husband Hunters:  Do you know that this director and writer like to put “Easter eggs” in their Reply series, right? An “Easter egg” is a hidden clue or message in the story.  You have to know what you’re looking for because they’re very tricky to find.

Well, I just found one (or four) for y’all.  And they’re a clue as to future husband. lol. Feel free to share this in the other sites.

The “Easter eggs” were embedded in the MTV of the featured song, “Aloha.”

The video is in Korean and it’s a bit grainy. But from what I understood, it’s about photographer who was going blind. 🙂 I believe she was trying to hide her condition because she wasn’t wearing corrective glasses. Her boyfriend found out about it. But he loved her enough to marry her despite her condition.

There were least four references to Songhwa and JW in the video.

1. Songhwa has bad eyesight. And IJ asked her, “Hey, Songhwa. Did your eyes get worse?” lol. This of course alludes to the girl in the MTV.

2. JW hands JWan a packet of ketchup.

That seemingly trivial gesture has an equivalent in the MTV. The guy also drew an item from his pocket and gave it the girl.

3. Songhwa prepares the coffee.

In the MTV, the girl worked for a coffee shop.

4. Songhwa makes coffee for JW and herself. JW complimented her on her coffee.

In the MTV, the girl prepared the guy coffee but he pretended to be poisoned taking a sip. They laughed together.

This coffee drinking moment was repeated halfway through the video.

That’s when the girl dropped a spoon and she had to grope for it on the floor. The guy pushed the spoon under her hand. Now, if I understood the video well, she confessed her growing blindness to him. But the boyfriend married her still.

These Easter eggs clearly augur well for the Buddha+Ghost team.

To be fair, I also searched for an equivalent reference to Jwan. I came away empty-handed. Maybe next time.  🙂

Updated: 5/19/2020

This is from hafunohane’s observation on Ep 3.

btw, i re-watched ep3. turns out IJ’s habit of thinking he knows what’s best for others have been generously hinted during this convo:

1. Andrea, true to his “petty” character, still remembers and brought this up: https://imgur.com/dbnPQNP

2. JWan added this: https://imgur.com/1ISKgyD & https://imgur.com/9KXjtZ7
“He’s lucky he’s a doctor. otherwise he’d be a FRAUD.”

3. And this is the ‘excuse’ IJ gave:  https://imgur.com/QyoQFmz & https://imgur.com/fGvQLep. IJ said “you guys were scared” and IJ was worried SHyeong wouldn’t be able to complete his internship bcoz of the hand tremor.

4. but SHyeong then said: https://imgur.com/ijXH4N4 “Stop MAKING STORIES UP.”

IJ said he saved the guys from getting beaten by the audience, but this trio actually told IJ what they actually thought:
1. Andrea: “We improved a lot” https://imgur.com/qwGx3xj
2. JWan: “We did well given our situation” https://imgur.com/9ji0D2N
3. SHwa: “I thought we were pretty good” https://imgur.com/3m2G2Z2

It was only after SHwa said this ^ that Andrea said, “performing on stage is a different matter” and JWan topped it w/ the “gag concert” bit. i think deep down IJ’s friends had actually wanted to perform back then, but IJ made the executive decision for them. and we as the viewers know since ep2 that they actually made a very decent band <3

  1. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks @pkml3. If the Easter eggs are not necessarily in the show itself, but in MTVs etc, that will be challenging indeed!

  2. You’re welcome, GB.

Easter eggs are everywhere, and they’re fun to

The poster Hyacinth (hmmm…I wonder where she is nowadays) also mentioned another song, the original “Confession is not Flashy.”

    Here’s the YT link:

    https://youtu.be/vEIGCXWop3I

The general idea behind this MTV is the guy leaving the girl a “map” where he indicated places for the girl to visit because he’d left little gifts for her. He gave her a stuffed toy, coffee, ipod touch, and a diary, and at the last place, he presented her with a ring.

Well….if you think about this, Ikjun left Songhwa “love hints” in the last few episodes of the show, but Songhwa hadn’t reciprocated — not one bit — to any of his love hints, UNLIKE the girl in the song. In fact, in the last episode, she looked downright trapped and uncomfortable when IJ told her about his proposal. lol.

Also, people didn’t wonder about this: why did Songhwa join the band as LEAD SINGER? Why did she insist on being the lead singer when she couldn’t carry a tune?

    lol.

Most viewers assumed that she joined the band because of IkJun. Well…I don’t think so. She didn’t even know that IkJun could play the guitar well until audition time. She was surprised just like the other guys were.

  3. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks again @pkml3. I will diligently view those MVs with an eagle eye and take notes!!! LOL.

Yes, the question did occur to me about whether Songhwa really thought she could sing well and thus insisted on being lead singer. I thought she was like many of the participants in reality ‘Got Talent’ shows where people who were sadly mistaken about their singing abilities took to the stage.

  4. She definitely knew that she was a lousy singer. That’s why she avoided the try-outs by pretending to have a sore throat (or something).

I think she insisted on being lead singer so she wouldn’t be kicked out of the band. She wanted be indispensable to the gang.

We have to understand her character. The other boys came in twos. IJ with Jwan. SH with JW. The guys had their best friends, friends from their primary school days.

But Songhwa was the only one there who came by herself. Not only was she a girl, but she had no “best friend” in the gang like the other guys.

To me, she was jockeying for lead position in the band so she wouldn’t be ousted from the group. She was trying to be relevant. 🙂

Technically, the band was SH’s band because the band instruments were his equipment and the house they were practicing in was his house. And SH’s best friend was JW.

IJ was the best singer there, but it was SH’s band. And SH’s best friend was JW.

  5. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Heh! @pkml3 Smart girl, that Songhwa. Find out enough about her crush and then take steps to get close to crush’s friends and involved in his activities. The wonder is that the guys didn’t ‘throw her out’ for her bad singing. They were really good sports LOL. Do we know if she was assigned the bass guitar or if she chose it herself to be closer to percussionist JW?

I looked up the relationship between bass guitar and drums and found this: https://groovewiz.com/relationship-between-bass-guitar-drums-why-its-so-crucial/#:~:text=While%20the%20drummer%20brings%20the,link%20between%20harmony%20and%20rhythm.

“While the drummer brings the rhythm, the bassist brings the groove. A bridge between rhythm and melody, the role of the bass player is to connect the drums with the rest of the band, laying down the music feel and giving harmonic context to the rhythm. The bass is the link between harmony and rhythm.” – Perhaps Songhwa can also be considered the link between the slightly otherworldly JW and the more calculating JWan and IJ, let alone with the small matter of where his heart actually lies.

  6. You learn fast @GB 😂. That’s the link. I wrote about it. I think Packmule will release that article soon enough.

There’s a term that describes the bass and drum. “Locking in”. It’s band lingo for when they synch well. It ties in with how they can read each other’s minds…both called psychics. They know instinctively what the other is thinking or needs. Without being asked. That’s how a drummer and bass played lock in. It takes years of practice together to know each other so intimately that when a drummer does a certain beat, the bass guitar knows by default how to sit in the groove. They are “locked in”. So similarly, FG was “locked in” from the start. Get it? 😂

    https://flypaper.soundfly.com/write/rhythm-section-locking-in-with-bass-and-drums/

  7. Aha! You and @nrllee spotted the connection between the drum and the bass!!

We don’t know how SongHwa ended up playing the bass but in one scene, she and JW — just the two of them — were practicing as SH observed them and smiled.

When you replay Ep 1, you know that JW didn’t mind Songhwa singing off-key. It was IJ who couldn’t stand it. JW thought that it was fine since SH had no intentions of playing at “Wembley Stadium” anyway. Wembley Stadium was where that famous Live Aid was held in the 1980s.

    All I know is:

SongHwa brought her camera for a reason during that freshman orientation night.

Songhwa wanted to be in the band with the guys even though she was a lousy singer.

Songhwa wanted to wear her old shoes for ten years so she didn’t retire and replace them.

Songhwa wanted brewed coffee to mean something.

Songhwa wanted to take over the Daddy-Long-Legs program of JW even when she was overworked.

  8. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@nrllee and @pkml3, thanks ladies but I cannot take credit for any great light bulb moments LOL. I was already clued in by reading you in the protected threads. I noted what you said but hadn’t yet gone into greater ‘research’. So now I see what you’re all getting at by knowing the end game and we’re just playing along with the PD and team to watch how they try to bluff us out of our certitude.

I now understand also why the opposing forces are large. You’ve had to go into much meticulous detail and observation to notice all the evidence that points to FG, whereas, the big breadcrumbs left by PD for WG are easier to follow.

The presumptive purpose of this production is to get viewers wrapped up in a rivalry of sorts with other viewers, to appear to give the fait accompli and then to pull the rug out from under our feet. In other words we know we are in this, to likely be trolled!!

I guess I have to laugh at this and join in with good grace or I’ll be one grumpy camper. LOL.

  9. Thanks for the original MTV of Aloha. It seems like a famous song in SK and has a lot of covers and quite catchy. I’ve always wondered why it was titled as Aloha – hello and goodbye. For IJ, it was more of goodbye.

I’ve never thought to relate the relationships of the instruments they play with the players. Indeed, the bass and drums set the rhythm and must be in synch.

I find it funny (and a bit yucky) SHwa’s prep when she will sing by swallowing raw egg yolks! Yikes!!! I guess that helps to smooth out your throat? 😂 I prefer to drink hot ginger tea.

  10. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Janey heheheh! I too cringed at the sight of 4 raw eggs in a glass, to be swallowed, supposedly to smoothen the voice or strengthen the throat or whatever singing apparatus we have. As usual, when I have no knowledge or grave doubts, I Googled it… and no, there is no proof that raw eggs help in this area. At least, not in the way Songhwa drank them. She was actually at risk of infection from Salmonella!

I do wonder if it was in the script that she should drink raw eggs of if she decided on it herself. I’d never be able to act that role if I had to down 4 raw eggs or even just 1!!!

Anyway, here’s something else on raw eggs and if they can help the voice. Seems it might in the long term, but not when taken just before a concert.

  11. Gee, I didn’t know there are so many easter eggs embedded in Aloha song clueing to future husband lol. So interesting & enlightening, I really enjoy all these treasure hunts you guys contribute. Thanks.

Oh,so SW wanted to be the lead singer to enlist herself in the boys’ band, and be near PG. Well she live up to her go getter name. Lol

From hafunohane’s observation in ep3, looks like IJ acting more like mr know-it-all, drawing conclusions for his pals. Worst when he confidently thinks that maggot is best for PG, match-making and kept pushing PG to accept her even when PG declared she is not his cup of tea. Can’t he sense the dynamics between PG and SW? PG preferential treatment from SW? Why did SW asked PG instead of him to carry her package even though PG had just popped his headache pills? Cos SW likes PG more, they are soulmates, in synch with one another.

  12. Why Songwha wanted to be the singer is something I never asked myself. Your explanation makes sense. But I did wonder why she joined the band the second time. She didn’t want to and SH lied that she would only join if she could be on vocals. I am not sure if this was already covered somewhere.

  13. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Gabimb, my thought or guess was that SHyeong already knew, from their past experiences, that Songhwa would only agree to joining the band if she was the lead singer. My guess is that when she saw that the 4 guys were definitely going to restart the band, she chose not to be left out, especially since she was offered the lead singer role. And since she could continue as bass and hangout with JW in their many band practices, it was a win-win situation for her and for SHyeong.

  14. @gb, thanks for the explanation. That makes sense.

  15. My tonight’s ep.10-1 behind the scenes highlight:
    1. JWon’s “elbow kick” to IJ when IJ scolded SHwa for her fast eating habit 😏
    2. On the DLL scene. SHwa is making coffee and JWon asks her to sit down cause he wanna tell her about DLL. But YYS changed his line to “나랑 결혼하자”, it means “Marry me”, right? 😂
Did YYS only teasing SHwa or… 🤭
BTS with subtitle please come sooner~

  16. https://twitter.com/bluelagoona80/status/1390290009530376196?s=19

For you my fellow FGrs! YYS of course is joking but he was in character as PG.🤭🤭🤭 He is returning Shwa’s earlier proposal🤭🤭🤭🤭

  17. @annp18 yes it means “let’s marry me” .. When I watched it I was smiling from ear to ear..😂

  18. @annp18 O my 😂. I punched the Korean into Papago and the Chinese translation? 和我结婚吧! Which literally means “Marry me”. 😂😂😂. YYS you’re killing me. Did you notice how Shin purposely didn’t include shots of the hug as JWon escorted SHwa out? She leaned her head on his shoulder. And Shin would’ve asked her to do that. So he conveniently didn’t include it. Ep10-1 BTS included Shin’s trademark humor with included scenes. He’s a troll. Everything is a joke to him. He really loves injecting humor wherever he can.

  19. We shall enjoy tonight’s fanservice. Next week someone else will get a proposal from a ‘zombie’ lol.

  20. Thanks for the link @GB!!! Google has an answer to everything! Hence I tried to Google “Flower Garden Couple Kdrama hospital playlist” and also Winter Garden… BoD comes as top post on FG but there are a lot more posts and even search questions on WG. I only read BoD in-depth so this will be really interesting in S2! Like you, I’ve been taking notes. I personally do not like the WG couple and I would love for the FG to bloom in the end.

  21. @Letta me too! 😍😍

@miracle23 no BTS of SHwa’s proposal, but we get JWon’s proposal 🤭💕

@nrllee note from the video editor above his line [joke], but what kind of joke was that, YYS-ssi? 😂
And yes to that scene, ShinPD must asked her to do that, just like he asked her to blush more in the storage room 1999. Only IJ’s part on that scene’s BTS.

  22. Oh bother! 🙃

If this blog comes out on top on FG, it means we’re also going to get more attacks from WGrs fans. We’ll have to batten down the hatches for Season 2. I still have to decide on whether to post my reviews in public or just for the FGrs. 🌸🌸🌸

I wish their fans would just stay in their lane. 🙄

  23. @annp18, mido x yys were actually rehearsing there. It was in the earlier caption.🤭 Nevertheless, YYS took the chance to make sure PG proposed back. Only God knows if PG really wanna propose or not🤣🤣🤣

  24. @miracle23 yes it was a rehearsal, so I didn’t expect anything. SHwa busy making coffee, JWon asked her to sit down, and suddenly “Marry Me” 😂
We didn’t get the lean-on-his-shoulder behind the scene, either bring-the-woodenstove-package and “JWon-ah,let’s get married” scene. ShinPD busy keeping secret from us 🤣

Besides, I’m curious how ShinPD found the jokesters. I laughed so hard since KyungHo on SHwa’s operating room scene last week, until last night KyungHo and MiDo on JaeHak scene calling him “oppa”, and KyungHo hiding under the table on DLL confession scene and making a shock face lol 🤣

  25. This episode is so full of funny deliberate reshoots🤣🤣🤣 Maybe shin pd has extra time during filming of ep 10 and he intended to make this to show to fans who waited for s2 to come out🤭

  26. I just started episode 3.
First scene of the episode, with the baby’s visit to the doctor.
For the first time, a real comedy scene that made me laugh sincerely. 🙂
But if the baby cries… isn’t it a sign that the doctor has something evil? I wonder. I saw another drama that had a little dog bark at a character, to reveal something evil about that character. 😉

  27. A very nebulous report on episode 3.
    =͟͟͞͞ ऀืົཽ≀ ͔ ͕̮ ऀืົཽ✧॰৹꒰꒱
Only one watching, split by boredom.
    Total duration : 5h.

    13:36 – Very sick baby squeezes his hand. ༼ ಥل͟ಥ ༽

    23:00 – Interminable karaoke filler.
    (º_º)
I note that this is a good hollow moment to have time to read the comments during a rewatch.
The writer of the drama has really considered everything.
    ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
Followed by other fillers with road trip or marathon run or golf.
But still: thanks for speeding up the tent set up and tear down.
    *** Pacing ***
10 minutes later, we get to the point of these scenes: to make it clear that they don’t have time to go on vacation because there are urgent operations.
How can I make the writer understand that I don’t have time to go on a 10-minute vacation either because there are urgent operations?
    *** End of Pacing ***
    ಠ‿↼

35:00 – One too many dialogue among too many dialogues. Moreover, it talks about a Jeong-won, I don’t know who. Well, as usual. Overloaded dialogue, too long, or useless, filled with unknown off-screen references.
Why am I harping on this again? It’s the basis of the drama.
    (︶ω︶)
It ends up saying that a guy is interested in Gyeo Wool in the transition scene (Lee). Whereas before Lee seemed to be interested in Song Wha. Mishmash.

36:00 – Jang Gyeo Wool seems to like a guy. Before she said it was “Lee”, but here she is with Lee Ik Jun. Was it another Lee? ….
This guy would be a certain Jeong-won. I am only able to record this by replaying the scene. I was too overwhelmed with the beginning of the dialogue and the previous one.
Here I cheat, go to the sheet and realize that it’s Ahn Jung Won, one of the guys from the 5 team.
Ok, I know, by episode 3, it’s not brilliant. But that’s what happens when you don’t cheat and watch the drama honestly without rewinding.

Oddly, Lee tries to persuade Gyeo Wool that Jung Won is not a good guy. Maybe because he has aims on her. I’m waiting for confirmation in a scene where he declares that he also likes maggots. This way, they can spice up their bed frolics with maggots. No, you never read that. MIB Flash. Please continue reading now.

    *** Grunt ***
I feel like you could write 10 scenes like that, paste them together, then put in dialogue about who’s doing what, who likes who, when the people aren’t there, and you don’t even know who they are. Then say the opposite when someone changes interest or partner. Splash, same price, 10 more scenes where we talk about everything and nothing, or about other people’s lives.
I even have the feeling that this is not a feeling because this is what has been going on since the beginning. Oops, bitter rambling. I need a Whisky.
*** End of Grunt, I don’t know if it’s better or worse with a Whisky ***

43:00 – Professor Kim Jun Wan forces my sympathy. Stern but fair, rational and professional. Plus, in this scene, he yells at a doctor. He often yells at doctors. And seeing people being yelled at is always funny.
    ☜(:༎ຶ;益;༎ຶ;)☞
    *** Useless erratic talk ***
For some strange reason, I thought he was the son of the priests’ mother (who has not been seen since, and whose name has been forgotten, hence this complicated turn of phrase and verbose parenthesis as one of the dialogues of the drama but without saying a name so it’s more simple). But I’m not sure anymore. It looks more like Ahn Jung Won. I mean the son of the priests’ mother. I remember the guy could be not interested in Jang Gyeo Wool because he is like a priest. But very weird one, as he got an affair with Song Hwa. Or I misundestood that dialogue. Or the dialogue was true, then, for unknow reason, it turn to be false after, as a joke for confusing the audience, like with the dialogue when Gyeo Wool say she like Lee. This seems a very erratic reasoning, but connoisseurs of the drama will certainly make sense of it.
*** End of erratic talk ***
    (/●◔∀◐●)/

44:40 – Professor Kim Jun Wan is really making fun of the world! He tells the two new interns that he chose to be a thoracic surgeon so he can teach. And instead of teaching them during the interview, he gets rid of them. It’s a fun, straightforward scene, as I’d like to see more of, instead of clueless dialogues. Did I mention the dialogues again? Oh well. Even in a scene like this, the writer (suffering from elbow compulsive tics on keyboard) can’t help but make a reference to an absent person. Saw Who.
    ~(^◇^)/

49:50 – Professor Lee remembers everyone’s name! He is very lucky. I hope that when he dies, he will donate his hippocampus to me for a brain transplant. (accurate medical reference). His patient and family are happy. What’s the point of the scene with this typical hospital dialogue? I don’t know. To show that Lee is a cool guy?
As if it wasn’t hard enough to keep track of all the characters, there are always plenty of extra doctors and interns thrown in. And on top of that all the names of all the patients, which change regularly.
    (҂⌣̀_⌣́)

52:30 – A reunion like I like. No dialogue. Silence. Then Hae Song Hwa concludes the meeting in one sentence and everyone leaves.
Right after, we talk about fake flowers. There’s definitely a mystical meaning hidden in there. Or maybe it’s just to pass the time. I have a doubt.
    .:*・✿ ✿.。.:*・ヾ(Ő‿Ő✿)

54:04 – Two minutes later, here we are. All this was to fit in a little ending line: if you come to the campsite, you can see real flowers.
I am dumbfounded by the overwhelming jubilation of this scene and the genius of the screenwriter to dare such a narrative linkage close to the comic infinite. Sidereal.
    ╚╚|░☀▄☀░|╝╝

57:50 – I learn that Professor Lee was married. What a little hider, this professor Lee…
    ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
His wife wants a divorce. We note that she wears a top of body strongly resembling a ballistic jacket. She has foreseen that it turns badly. Indeed, when a drama or a movie is boring, there is an advice given by an illustrious scriptwriter whose name I forgot: if nothing interesting happens, bring a man with a gun into the room.
    ( ͝ಠ ʖ ಠ)=ε/̵͇̿̿/’̿’̿ ̿
In this scene, the director offers some very bold shots. The characters are so close to the edge of the screen that their noses risk being cut off. As for the empty space left behind their heads, it is not clear what it is for. You can admire the architecture, or see pigeons flying away, but I didn’t find any. Maybe the pigeon was not in the screen…
    ◔̯◔
More seriously, this kind of shot is often used to show two characters as separated by a wall of disagreement.

1:07:00 – Very long monologue of the intern who explains to her brother the procedure of the operation and the artificial stop of the heart. Of course, she is not speaking for her brother but for the audience. I have to say that in terms of information conveyed to the audience, generally, we try to hide that, to be discreet and natural, a little something in a line or two. And often it’s not so simple, it’s noticeable.
    ╰໒(⸝⸝⸝⚆Ĺ̯⚆⸝⸝⸝)७ノ
Well, here, we could have even put a sexy montage with diagrams. A bit like the ones explaining the games in Liar Game (Japan). A animated clip. Half of the drama could be summarized in ten times less time this way by the way (it’s amazing the puns the automatic translation adds sometimes). After all, there are already hideous flashbacks with compressed images and ulcerating forced comedy. We’re not that close anymore. With the time saved, it would allow only cool and interesting scenes. Oops, I forgot to put a snark tag.
    ԅ། , ◔ ﹏ ◔ , །ᓄ

1:14:20 – Resolution of two previous subplots.
Cool professor Lee’s patient dies. It was supposed to go great though.
    (;☉_☉)
Professor Kim Jun Wan teaches, or manipulates a bit, his two interns to become cardio-thoracic doctors. He had not answered the question why he became so (previous scene), and it is done here. Teardrop gimmick with the baby.
    ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ ༽

1:16:00 – Lee is depressed. His operation was screwed up.
    ( ಠ ಠ )
That’s why we saw him so cool before. To better bury him later.
Plus, he fed the peanut salad to his allergic son himself.
    Plus, he divorces.
Plus, maggot girl that he aims for new romance prefers another guy.
Plus, Song Hwa is not ok to be at least his sex-friend, although he courted her brilliantly by doing a funny pick-me dance earlier.
    — First class burial. —
Poor old man. When fate takes a hand…
    (✦థ ェ థ)
(it’s amazing how many people are allergic to stuff in dramas)

1:22:30 – Song to tug at the heartstrings because there was a tragic situation. The basis of any medical drama, even the ultra-comic stuff like Dr House or Scrubs.
    ヾ(@^▽^@)ノ
Opinion: Everything works far better in Scrubs (Is the comparison still possible?), especially comedy, clarity, rhythm and… dialogs! After finishing an episode, we have only one desire, to continue on the next one as if it was a peanut. And we don’t become allergic to peanuts during the episode, forced to go to the hospital and end the episode later, 10 times per episode…

1:24:00 – Filler car trip. Again. Short one. Phew.
    (¬▂¬)

1:25:30 – No tent setup this time. Phew.
Camping in the rain. Here is the guy from team 5 (Ahn Jung Won after checking). It’s strange, he’s going to see her, and on top of that he gave her shoes. It’s probably a disguised confession.
I remember now that she had invited everyone, but since it’s raining… If he came anyway, it’s not without reason, right? You know what I mean? And for a cliffhanger, too? And no flowers. He didn’t come to see the flowers, did he? Or else, or else, ah ah, trick, a girl with a flower name.
Damn, I don’t understand what’s happening to me, my analytical skills just spiked. Maybe because the episode is over and I feel relieved. It’s like the gush of a life force that has been suppressed for 1h20.

Still, we see a clever connection between a seemingly useless scene lost in the drama, which finally has a little more use than it did originally.
They are both, alone, in a tent under the rain.
What can they do to pass the time in these conditions?
Hint: there is a man and a woman. They have had an affair in the past.
    ✿♥‿♥✿

Cluedo of relationships, without analyzing anything, with little possibility of concentration.
Basic situation, reverse harem around Hae Song Hwa.
    – Lee Ik Jun is interested in Chae Song Hwa.
    – But it would be rather his wife finally.
    – Kim Jun Wan is not interested in Chae Song Hwa.
    – Chae Song Hwa is interested in Kim Jun Wan.
    – Maggot girl says she is interested in “Lee”, Lee Ik Jun?
    – But it would be rather Ahn Jung Won finally.
    – Ahn Jung Won is perhaps interested in Maggot girl. (two scenes with an extended shot)
    – But it would be rather Chae Song Hwa finally.
I’ve already forgotten what I just wrote. It’s convenient to play cluedo in every episode.

I did not know if Maggot girl was Jang Gyeo Wool or Bae Jun Hee.
In episode 2, it’s said to be Dr. Bae. Then now it’s Gyeo Wool.
To me, she’s just Chae Song Hwa’s bespectacled clone but not as pretty.
Besides, at the beginning, I had confused the two characters, they were the same one in my mind. This is what happens when you put two girls who look alike, have white coats and wear glasses.
    (。☉︵ ಠ╬)

Additional remark: Chae Song Hwa sings badly.
If she wasn’t their girlfriend, they wouldn’t take her in the musical group. ^^

    POSTED Easter Eggs
Thank you @WE for that stream of consciousness view into your drama-watching mind. LOL. I can’t blame you, because show is deliberately not making some things clear. It leaves a lot in the first 3 episodes, to us to puzzle out and wonder about. Names/surnames are similar in sound and I’m not sure, but your subs may also not be always accurate.

Show also like to troll, for eg. at 35:32 Jung Wan wonders aloud if Ik Jun is having an affair with Jang Gyeoul (Winter), and then we cut to IJ giving Gyeoul a conspiratorial look and smile and we see Gyeoul respond with a smile and come closer and the music changes to ‘romantic’ interlude music. At this stage, it’s a troll. They are not having an affair and they do not (yet) have any romantic feeling for each other. However, this could also be show’s way to hint at the possibility in the future.

Show is tricky and obscure that way. So rant away. You save me the trouble LOL.

Anyway we see that IJ was feeding Gyeoul’s ‘desire’ to see photos of JW.

36:04 I just realised that IJ once again did not have the correct idea of what Gyeoul wanted. He thought he should get a photo of JW alone, for Gyeoul without JW catching on. IJ didn’t want to make it obvious to JW that Gyeoul liked him. However we find out that Gyeoul does not mind that JW knows.

She (unlike other females?) wanted IJ to ask JW point blank what he thought of her.
Jung Won and Song Hwa affair? Your subs must be mis-translating. JW comes to ‘catch’ IJ with Gyeoul. She runs off but JW tells IJ he better not be having an affair with Gyeoul. IJ takes the opportunity to ask JW what he thinks of Gyeoul and from JW’s expression we see that it has never occurred to him to think of Gyeoul in any special way. He is completely non-plussed by that question.

Interesting note you made about zooming in on character’s heads, which are too close to the edge of the screen. I did wonder what that was supposed to show… they have a great difference in opinion and so cannot even be in the same frame. Brilliant!!

1:16:00 At the end of this episode we see that it has given more focus on Ik Jun. We find that he’s blindsided by his wife (and others) because he holds inaccurate assumptions about them, or what they want and acts on those wrong assumptions.

We are shown him having a bad day where 3 major things outside his control, go wrong. His wife wants a divorce, he finds out inadvertently from the phone conversation with the restaurant that a man had been with his wife and son at dinner and that the man’s salad had peanuts ie wife was having an affair, his son ate the man’s salad and was sick from allergy and his patient whom he had done a successful transplant for had met with an accident and had died. Now once again he had to operate on the same patient, but this time it was to harvest his organs for donation to others. It was a very painful day for Ik Jun.

We see that he went through it all with grace and decorum. I don’t recall exactly but I don’t think we had scenes of him being melodramatically upset or sharing his pain with friends. We also notice that in spite of his bad experience with his wife, he has not changed in his attitude that he knows best for others.
    …maybe more later …

    @WE
1:25:30 Camping in the rain. The doctor who turned up in the rain was Ahn Chi Hong, (not our hero, Ahn Jung Won). Chi Hong likes Songhwa and gave her the new shoes. We do not know (but we are guessing) that the old pair of shoes was given by Jung Won. Songhwa remains professional with Chi Hong and does not encourage him to be more on a personal level.

About SH’s Singing – I feel it must be difficult for a good singer to deliberately sing badly offkey. So I take my hat off to the actress Jeon Mi Do. And yes, because at least 2 or 3 of the guys did already feel positive towards Songhwa, they let her join the band although she couldn’t sing. To their credit, they never seemed to have criticised her to her face about her singing and they let her continue even when they cringed, LOL. It was a relief when IJ took over the main singing.

  30. I am seeing stars reading you @WE 😂😂😂

The first few episodes are mainly introduction of the main characters. Ep.1 is PG, Ep. 2 is Shwa, Ep. 3 is IJ and Jwan, Ep. 4 is Shyeong. Then the story of the 5 followed suit. Yes, GB, beside trolling, the scenes between IJ and his resident showed their relationship developed very early from confidante to friends… exactly how ShinLee usually do for their pairings, main or supporting. They went through a natural course. Their endings? To be continued🤭🤭🤭

  31. @GB, hi!

As you say, it’s a live stream of consciousness. I take notes as I watch the episode and describe what I understand. Without cheating! No matter if there is a mistake. If I see a mistake, I also indicate the moment I understand that I was wrong.

I learned that there was a love affair between Song Wha and JW in the last scene of episode 2.
    Did I misunderstand the dialogue?

To complete the fun: I could not find French subtitles. So I have English subtitles, automatically translated into French, with the errors that this may involve.
    ヾ(。﹏。)ノ゙

Thank you for your clarification: I had misunderstood everything about this peanut salad. I thought the man the restaurant owner was talking about was IJ. And therefore that it was an off-screen scene with him, his wife and son. Actually, no, it was his wife’s affair. A guy who doesn’t even know his son is allergic. The poor kid has to worry about surviving if his mother gets custody of the child after the divorce.

Here I was wrong twice. And why?
    *** Shitpost ***
It’s pretty obvious. Very bad screenplay where everything goes through dialogues.
For each of the cases, a competent screenwriter would have placed flashbacks or a montage. She would have shown the situations. She would have changed the order of the scenes. She would have allowed the viewer to feel the emotions of the situations. She would not have injected tons of facts and feelings into dialogues of people talking about other people. The kind of thing that is never captured and is quickly forgotten. What I see here is not a drama, it’s the writer’s draft at the stage where she describes who does what with whom. Outline. Endless blah blah.
Basic screenplay advice : Show don’t tell.
    *+:꒰◍•ᴗ•◍꒱:+*
I’ve been allergic to Kim Eun Sook since Descendants of the Sun, because I don’t like her story choices since then, and she also produces boring and confusing stuff. But damn, she never gets into a lack of screenplay. She places a lot of attractive scenes in one way or another, which hold the attention. In TKEM, whether you understand the scene or not, it conveys things visually.
As a result, Lee Woo Jung has become my new worst black spot. I have never seen (or rather heard/read) anything as bad as what she offers. I just developed a new allergy…

The dumbest thing is that troops of crazy people aggressively go out of their way to impose a couple and intimidate other viewers, for such mediocre content. It’s really the height of ridiculousness.

Yeah, I’d rather unload all my negativity here in a big fat shitpost. It will save me from being a pain later on during the rewatch. If I build a dam, it will be doomed to blow up later producing more disaster.

    Let’s slide.
The doctor at the end was Chi Hong and not Jung Won.

How long have I been confusing these two guys into one?
Now that I think about it, I remember some inconsistencies.
In one scene, Jung Won yells at Song Wha.
But in another scene, Song Wha yells at Jung Won.
I thought it was weird. No wonder! It wasn’t Jung Won but Chi Hong.

In the end, the scene with the fake flowers was pretty much useless.
Only possible conclusion, Chi Hong is interested in Song Wha… maybe.

    @Miracle23,
Yeah, my experience as a viewer must make the drama regulars laugh. There’s a lot of backwards stuff in there about the story itself. I hope it makes your day 😉
Sorry if I offend the sensibilities of people who love the drama, about the other comments about the mechanics. Once it starts, it becomes a vicious circle. Deciphering the negative begets more deciphering of the negative. This is of course not a waste of time. It is very instructive for me, just another way to “like” the drama. I thought I had found a positive, and I was wrong. I hope to focus more on the actors, direction and subtext during the rewatch. I won’t have time to read the dialogue anyway. Reading the comments of other viewers will be just as good.

  32. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE By all means, do not bottle up the (errr… sh*t) stress that will break the dam. It’s a pity we are not doing a rewatch of Ep3, because I noticed a couple of things.

One of them was the fake flowers. We spend quite a few minutes staring at fake roses, a few fake tulips and even a fake butterfly.

There is talk about people knowing what roses look like. But Songhwa says “…These days, many people don’t know the names of plants and flowers.” (Hmmm… a comment about people not recognising her as the ‘Flower’ of this show, since her name also means ‘flower’?)

The group is disheartened to find that the flowers they were happy to see were artificial.
Dr Yong sighs : “That’s just wrong.”
Nurse : “I’m just realising that it’s been a long time since I saw real flowers.”

Is this a comment on Songhwa being the authentic ‘flower’ and that we should not be trolled by the fake flowers? It will take a long time for us to recognise which flower is real and which is fake? LOL.

One can get too anal trying to figure out something where the writer and PD are soooooo obscure!!!!!

  33. @GB, I saw a lot of new nicknames in the rewatch list.
I also saw that there were only a certain number of episodes proposed for the rewatch.
There are so many fans of the drama here now, that a rewatch of all the episodes would certainly be popular. However, there is a schedule and a deadline because of season 2 I guess? It would have to be a rewatch with two back-to-back episodes. Or a rewatch of one episode one day, and the next one on another day. Quite difficult to make. 2h40 of HP would make me sleep.
I’m not in the place of the others, it’s just a hunch, but I think the fans of the drama and the new flower gardeners could be happy with it.
And as you point out, there are also things hidden in all the episodes.
Not that I’m thrilled to see a 3 minute karaoke filler again!

  34. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    @WE you said

I learned that there was a love affair between Song Wha and JW in the last scene of episode 2.
    Did I misunderstand the dialogue?

I believe you are referring to the conversation between Jung Wan who entered the office of another Dr Jang (also a cardiothoracic doctor in another hospital).

This Jang was the boyfriend of Songhwa, who’d been caught by JWan with another woman. JWan is more Songhwa’s friend although he knows Dr Jang as a fellow surgeon in the same specialty. He threatens to tell Songhwa about Jang’s cheating if Jang doesn’t hurry up to do it himself.

So this had nothing to do with JW. Yes, the actors are hard to tell apart when first viewing the episodes. It took me a while as well.

  35. @GB, you got it! The writer and PD are being too anal themselves for writing such screenplay with hidden clues/innuendos everywhere. He is known as spoiler freak and attention to details. 🙈 They love creating fan wars, though it is yet unknown if this 4 corners war expectation will ever be a reality🤔

@WE, the drama is simple in contents, yes. But the puzzles are not if viewer is not familiar with their m.o. I think it would be a huge task for these duo to create a complex drama content along with its puzzles hidden here and there. They would have to quit their variety shows if ever they wanna attempt that🤭

  36. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE It’s true that a full rewatch of all episodes will still draw us like flies to honey. You are correct in concluding that we are only selecting a few episodes (the more significant ones) because we want to concentrate on S2 in June, and not be inundated with old and new episodes at the same time.

There’s no way I can survive the hectic business of watching back-to-back episodes. They are so long already with some at 1 hour 20++ minutes each. No, our play times must be fun and relaxed and not so much hectic, hard work!!!

Yes, there is always hard work because of all the hidden gems and Easter Eggs. The music, karaoke or live performance will still be significant too although sleep inducing. I think for these, just read up about the music and go ahead to snooze. The lyrics are the thing to watch out for.
    😉

  37. Great post, thanks for re-posting this packmule3! I was reminded that SHwa indeed knows she’s a lousy singer (faking a sore throat during team auditon) but insists that she’s good enough to be lead singer to try and retain her position/value in the band (as Ik Jun pointed out she took 5 years to learn the bass, so it appears she isn’t musically inclined)

Not sure if it had been mentioned elsewhere, but I also noticed that it may be worth noting what SHwa “remembers”. In E2 when SH said that he confessed to SHwa during freshman year and got rejected, she replied “When? I don’t even remember yesterday”. If I remember correctly, in the BTS video, they were teasing SHwa/Mido about “forgetting” but Shin PD said that it’s true that she really forgot that incident. In E9/10 when Ahn Chee Hong asked SHwa if she remembers the first time they met at the hospital and she couldn’t recall either; and we know that both candidates were rejected point blank.

  38. Thank you for reposting this @packmule3. This post refresh my mind for what happened in episode 3. Tbh, I got cry a lot because in this episode is about Children day (Dad and Children relationship). It reminds me of my late Dad<3<3<3

I just realized that "One Summer Drive" song is played in SHwa and PG scene only when SHwa's going to go to camping site and PG's going to do a marathon. Since I graduated from English Language and Literature major, I learned about a lot of theories about sign for literature stuffs. I remember a theory by Frye about seasons that said Summer means season of romance. Meanwhile, in episode 3, "One Summer Drive" and "Aloha" are identic with Summer, and the songs are about love. I tried to linking the poster and this episode as per last Thursday, we got JKH posting official Season 2 poster. I found a person who noticed about the theme of the poster (the poster looks like a scrapbook decorated with flowers). The flowers that he/she noticed are Yellow Patrinia and Lily on the valley which grow on Summer (source: https://twitter.com/urijeongyeoul/status/1390119791105433600?s=21)
I wonder why they decorate it only with flower, and i suspect it will about SHwa (SHwa = flower; even they're not moss rose) in summer. So, in Season 2 we might get what happened to them, Hawaii, and especially what happened to SHwa (and PG) in summer (on the top left of the poster they show SHwa and PG's photo in 99). Are we going to have a throwback? :))

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the poster @raininthefall.

I googled the poster and found this blog (and others as well) I’m just putting the links here to bring them together. They are from a few days ago. The scrapbook look is deliberate and meant to be a nice gift to viewers as we recall S1 before heading in for S2.

It says: “The 99’s Memories poster, which was released ahead of season 2 is composed of posters from season 1 that captures the nostalgic and beautiful memories of the first season. There are pictures of them bonding at work, in their medical wear, having meals together, sharing a good laugh and having a good time together. The pictures are strewn together in a collage to give us a photo book of memories for life.”

“The production crew confirmed that they wanted to commence season 2 by refreshing audiences’ happy and nostalgic memories of the cast members from the previous season. The photo book of memories is a gift to audiences. Hospital Playlist airs on June 17 at 9 pm KST.”

    Soompi says:
“The poster captures different memories of the “99’ers” (referring to the year their characters all graduated from medical school) by combining all their group posters from season one. This poster works to allow viewers to reminisce on the memories from season one and look forward to the upcoming season. The caption also reads, “A new season, our special day-to-day lives begin.”” [bold highlight added by me]

“A producer of “Hospital Playlist” commented, “To signal the start of season two, we combined all the memories from season one like a scrapbook. Please look forward to the special yet average day-to-day lives of the five friends that we’ll showcase through season two.””

  40. Thank you for your insight on the flower connection, @raininthefall 😊 my Ms. Sherlock told me perhaps the new season is Summer where our Moss Rose, Chae Song Hwa blooms. Fact says that the seeds of moss rose are planted in Spring and it will fully bloom in Summer.🥰

As Shin PD stated before, Writer Lee would choose songs that are relevant to the story. In Ep. 3, these two songs are relevant to Shwa, and PG. Why PG instead of the singer, Ikjun? Aside from the MV easter eggs, the lyric says it all😊

    1. “You have always believe in me”

Throughout the whole series the only two person who were shown that they trusted each other are Shwa x PG. She listened and took his advise. She did not stop him from pursuing priesthood. He trusted that her No means, No. 😅 He also trusted her with DLL. Did Shwa trust IkJun’s reasoning? No, she implied this when he showed up to accompany her during biopsy result. As a doctor, she won’t promise them what Ikjun told her. It may sound comforting at first but they would be heartbroken if she failed. He also fail to understand her interest i.e. purchasing her camping items, he dictated her eating habit. He did not trust her way of doing things. Not 20 years ago. Not even in 2019. And some people thought that is romantic 🤣🤣🤣

    2. “With the mind of one, and an unshakable trust in each other,
I hope we’ll comfort each other in misery and celebrate happiness together”

They have been shown countless times that they have the mind of one and unshakable trust in each other. I hope they will comfort each other’s misery and celebrate happiness together 🤭🤭🤭

    3. PG himself said he could sing the song very well too. We hear you. So, when can we see that? Hawaii?😁

    Aloha lyric:

A candle in the dark, a wineglass filled with our promise
I will always stay by your side and protect you, because you’ve always believed in me

The only thing I’ve been dreaming of is eternal happiness with you
It doesn’t have to be fancy or perfect, the only thing I want is you

    Don’t worry (l believe) Always (l believe) I won’t forget this moment
In my arms (l believe) your smile will never lose its light

Cause your love is so sweet, you are my everything
I’m not just saying this because I’m happy
    I will never change, I won’t change
I’ll only have eyes for you

You’re light of my life, you’re the one in my life
    Even if I lose everything,
I will never regret it, and keep loving you
With the everlasting love in my heart

From this moment on, the most important person in my life isn’t me, it’s you.
I can’t show my true feelings with words, but I love only you.
    Like friends, or like lovers,
Until my last breath, I will only love you.

With the mind of one, and an unshakable trust in each other,
I hope we’ll comfort each other in misery and celebrate happiness together

For OSD, the singer wanted to start fresh. It relates to Shwa starting anew following a break up with Prof Cheater. She is going back to her beginning. She will love herself first. And why did they include PG in that sequence. Does he has anything to do with her beginning? Anything to do with her plan to create a new happines? He probably is. We saw they both rushed back to the hospital. Perhaps an indication that they will both return to the starting point that they left behind in 1999. To be confirmed 🤭🤭🤭🤭
