What Are We Watching in March 2024? ADDENDUM

I was such in a hurry to release March’s WAWW because of “Queen of Tears” that I overlooked two more interesting shows this month.

1. The Midnight Studio

This is like “Hotel del Luna.” Instead of a hotel however, the ghosts gather at a photo studio. Here’s the synopsis from soompi.

Seo Ki Joo is a professional photographer specializing in ghost customers at the Midnight Studio that is only open at night. With 20 years of experience, he handles ghost guests skillfully. The special camera that can take photos of ghosts can only be operated by its owner Seo Ki Joo, so without him, his clients cannot ascend to heaven.

Han Bom is the only living person other than the owner Ki Joo to enter the mysterious photo studio, which is visible to the dead only. Due to an incident, Han Bom obtains the ability to see ghosts. She is in charge of providing legal advice to ghost customers visiting the photo studio. Han Bom possesses the so-called “ghost-free zone” ability as the ghosts’ powers do not work on her. Thanks to this, no matter how ghosts try to torment her, their powers are neutralized in front of Han Bom.

Episodes: 16

2. Chicken Nugget

This one is sure to be a riot.

When Kim Yoo Jung’s character accidentally turns into a chicken nugget by an invention of her father, her father and an admirer must find a way to restore her to her original self. I’m reminded of that 1980s movie, “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.”

Starring: Kim Yoo Jung (“My Demon”), Ahn Jae Hong (“Reply 1988”) and Ryu Seung Ryong (never heard of this ahjussi).

Episodes: 10 (will all the episodes drop on one day?)
Start Date: Friday March 15
Airs on Friday
Where to Watch it: Netflix
Network: Netflix

As for Japanese dramas, I finished Episode 1 of “House of Ninjas.” It’s a binge-able show.

  1. Howdy! I will definitely watch Chicken Nugget but not sure about the Midnight Studio.

    Thanks! 🙂

  2. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks @pkml3. Kwon Nara gives me pause but I may still try the The Midnight Studio, but only some days after it airs.

  3. I’m just laughing seeing the photo of Chicken Nugget. Have you looked? The meme value is pure gold, pun intended.

No promises, because I’m sort of reaching my weekly drama limit already, but thank you, @packmule3. 🍗🍟

  4. Kalimera Ladies!

I do hope you are okay. 😊

I don’t have time to watch many shows this month, so If I am going to pick from twose two, I am going to watch “The Midnight Studio”.

I haven’t watched Episode 12 of “Doctor Slump” yet and I want to watch “The Impossible Heir”. So, I am going to keep my list light, until I can watch something else…

  5. The idea that pretty Kim Yoo Jung turned into a glazed chicken nugget cracked me up. It’s just a cameo though.

I’m also craving for Bonchon’s crispy soy garlic wings for dinner tonight.

  6. 👍 I need something to watch on the long flights but I can’t do obvious romantic shows in case my nosy colleagues ask me what I’m watching. 🤪😂

  7. Oh, those crispy soy garlic wings just sound unfair. We don’t have that brand around here. ☹️ pouty face.

    I shall have to improvise.

Are you enjoying The Impossible Heir? I think these actors are at the top of their games there.

  8. I could go to Bonchon in France. But they are due to come to the UK eventually.

  9. @Fern

I haven’t watched anything this past week except for the “House of Ninja” 🥷🏻 which fits my current frame of mind. I’ll turn off my fight mode soon and return to romcoms. Sometimes it’s hard to switch off from work to kdramas.
    Got to run now.

  10. Chicken Nugget doesn’t have only an amazing pitch, but also an amazing cast.
I hope I’ll be able to free time for this drama at least. 😉

  11. Yes, will definitely watch Chicken Nugget, impossible Heir and “Tears.” Am having a lot of trouble getting into Doctor Slump after 2 1/2 episodes. The acting feels off, forced. Am fond of PHS since watch SWDBS so I had high hopes. Any thoughts? Stick with it or not?

  12. @Lootie – wedding impossible is quite entertaining and there is lively discussion on the thread. The dialogue is good and clever so there is a lot to unpack even if the story itself is typical contract marriage chaebol plucky heroine stuff. It is funny!

I will check out the chicken nugget drama just because.

  13. Howdy! No worries. Take your time. 🙂 Travelling is exhausting sometimes. When I travelled to Hawaii last November, it got so cold on the airplane for me that I had a blocked nose the whole flight. I was surprised because I don’t usually have it.

What would be your response if your colleague’s catch you watching romantic shows? LOL.

  14. Hey @Lootie Lyn,

Unfortunately Dr. Slump has a messy script. The cast saves this, but at times you may cringe a bit, the comedy is dry at parts. I haven’t watched Episode 12 yet. Still, since I am in that part of the show, I will finish it.

  15. @Good Twin, @Cleopatra Thanks for responses to my concerns re Doctor Slump. I am through episode 4 now and since I’ve tamped down my high expectations am doing a little bit better with it.
Perhaps it is both the script in which too much is mundanely predictable and the director that has let me down. I also don’t see the chemistry here between first leads. Park Shin Hye looks older than PHS in this drama.
Many other great KDrama choices out there this month and from the past so am still in a good K place!
