My Roommate is a Gumiho: Ep 5 Highlights
Now, that I’ve explained the last scene in Episode 4, I can move on to explain Episode 5. link: The Nietzsche and Fermina Daza Quotes To me, the most significant line that Mr. Fox said was neither the Nietzsche quote nor the “Love in the Time of Cholera” passage; it was Mr. Fox’s own words. […]
Throwback Thursday: HP Ep 12 SongHwa’s Perspectives
Hospital Playlist Season 2 begins next week so I’m gearing up for a hectic premier with the usual reminders. This blog is a safe space for Flower Gardeners. I’ve given fair warning to viewers who ship JW with Jang and/or Songhwa with IJ: You are NOT welcome here. Do yourselves a favor and leave. There […]
My Roommate is a Gumiho: Ep 4 The Nietzsche and Fermina Daza Quotes
Before I start my review of Ep 5 (it’s on queue for tomorrow), I have to explain the last scene in Episode 4 because I think this scene goes hand-in-hand with last scene in Episode 5. I’ll keep this short. Dam: Orishein, I know we accidentally got involved with each other. So I know we […]
Bossam: Ep 11 On DaeYeob
“Bossam” has a better script and better execution than “River Where the Moon Rises.” Three things that bugged me about RWTMR aside from Jisoo’s portrayal of OnDal? 1. Blood and gore 2. Superfluous subplots 3. Bloated list of characters You could fast-forward through the battle scenes, palace intrigues, village life, back history, power struggles, and […]

Doom at Your Service: The Potted Plant and Hopeless Love
(This will be short because I’ve a flight to catch. Thanks, @Cleopatra, for writing down the subs from Viki.) Deity: You were curious about what I planted here. DK: What is that? Deity: A possibility. It grew up feeding on your misfortunes. *** Deity: It’s a good night. MM: Are you having fun? Deity: It’s […]
Bossam: Eps 11 & 12 Open Thread and Quiz Time
If you’re like me then you’re excited about the “marriage life” of BaWoo and SooKyung and impatient for the subbers to finish Ep 12. So while waiting for the subs to go up, here’s an open-notes quiz to occupy our time. There are three scenes. Each scene has multiple screenshots. Go ahead and pick one […]
Doom at Your Service: Eps 9 & 10 Open Thread
The thread is now open to spoilers and philosophical musings. Gifs from earthmixs’ tumblr source: earthmixs’ tumbr I think this smiling face of hers, and that waving hand of hers, would make a good last image for him to remember her by when she dies. And I think he knew it. Let’s enjoy the show!
My Roommate is a Gumiho: Eps 1 to 4 My Notes
I’m writing my notes down as my aide-mémoire. With so many dramas on my list, I’m likely to lose the plot. This is a work in progress. A. Shin Woo Yeo From Episode 1 According to the legend, was born as a lowly beast but dreamt of becoming human. The deity said, “What a foolish […]

Bossam: Eps 9 & 10 On Cinematography
One of the most pretentious comments I often see in a fan’s review of a drama is “I love the cinematography!” To me, unless the fan can explain her usage of the word, she’s merely showing off that she knows a six-syllable synonym for “landscape,” “view,” and “scenery.” Cinematography should mean so much more than […]
