Robert asked: I was wondering how did sigma get his scar on the neck if seo hae was supposed to be dead in the past? She said that she was suppose to get shot in the hospital right? Robert, It’s okay to wonder how Sigma got the scar since he himself couldn’t remember anymore the […]
Hello, Me: Eps 13 & 14 @Welmaris’ Comments
I’m going to answer you here, @Welmaris so it’s easier for me to find this in the future. Episodes of this drama continue to get better and better, which is refreshing because some dramas lose momentum and sputter to a finish. I think the strength of this kdrama is the human element. While it’s expected […]

River Where the Moon Rises: Episode 14 Quick Takes
If you’re uninterested in the palace politics like me, then Episode 14 is a good time to check out the lay of the land. We’re seeing the true motivations of the characters and the final shift in strategic alliances. Here is where things stand and begin to fall apart: 1. On Dal’s Sunno tribe won […]
Happy Easter!
As much as I like to watch kdramas (and doramas and Chinese dramas with 24 episodes or less), there’s only ONE story that I never get tired of hearing or recounting. Can you guess which one? No, it’s not “Start-Up” although I look forward to our re-watches. It’s not “Reply 1988” although I probably wrote […]
Sisyphus: Eps 11 & 12 Review
Without further ado. A. Mr. Park He has a doppelganger who’s still alive. If Sigma arrived in 2001, and Mr Park was one in that group of first time-travelers, then Mr. Park arrived around 2001, too. That means he’s been avoiding his doppelganger for 20 years. 1. I like that SeoHae took him to task […]

Joseon Exorcist: Jang Dong Yoon’s Apology
On March 27, Jang Dong Yoon issued a personal apology regarding the controversy. He was the first one from the cast members and production team on “Joseon Exorcist” to apologize. Since I don’t speak Hangul, I’m going to post both translations from allkpop and soompi to get a better grasp of the nuance. I believe […]
River Where the Moon Rises: Eps 13 & 14 Open Thread
The thread is now open for spoilers, and opinions. Nrllee said that refilmed (the “new and improved”) Episode 1 would be shown this week. Good news! I’m so ready to erase this image of Jisoo from memory. From the start, I found his smug face was off-putting. This wasn’t the image of an “innocent” On […]
River Where the Moon Rises: Ep 12 The Fight Scene
Is there anybody here who’s watching this for the palace drama? If you are expecting any analysis from me on the politics of this Goyurgeo nation, then please be forewarned that I’m treating this kdrama like a pop-up story book. That is, I only pop up during the fairy tale moments between the main couple, […]
Joseon Exorcist: First and Last Impressions
When I read that this kdrama was canceled after two episodes, my instant reaction was: I felt sorry for the cast members. They worked hard. And I’m sure these kdramas are more exhausting, tedious, and expensive to produce because of the COVID safety protocols. But I say that for the writer Park Gye-Ok, it was […]
