A. The Tropes 1. Accidental Kiss Fern wrote: if you don’t like tropes, stop now. Not just wrist grab, but a full ‘fall on top of him with your mouth on his.’ (without broken teeth or cut lips, mind) I loved the grandfather asking wonderingly, ‘Why are the rich always villains on these shows?’ after […]
Twenty-Five Twenty-One: Episode 4 On Coaching
Some of you may wonder how come I’m tough on the coach but not on the mother of Heedo. My reason is simple. We all know bad parenting when we see it, but many of us can’t tell a bad coach from a good one. You don’t need me to pile on the mom’s cold […]
Twenty-Five Twenty-One: Episode 4 My Takes
I’m going to buck the trend and say that I didn’t like the episode. Here are my reasons: 1. My expectation of a YiJin+Heedo happy ending took a nosedive. Baek YiJin isn’t Minchae’s dad if she doesn’t recognize his face in the pictures. So there goes that theory that Baek YiJin had a name change. […]
Whatcha Cooking for Meatless Friday, Mar 12?
Tomorrow we’re having something simple: pasta with mussels. My ingredients: garlic extra-virgin olive oil (evoo) fresh tomatoes (not the tomato paste) white wine basil parsley pine nuts (I like nuts on my food) mussels Pasta? I’ll use spaghetti. Maybe linguini. I like to try different pasta shapes: bow ties, wheels, spirals, shells, Mickey Mouse, and […]

Business Proposal: Episode 4 My Quick Takes
This kdrama doesn’t require much analysis so “quick takes” are my instant reactions and unfiltered opinions on the episode. Initially, I wanted to limit myself to 100 words but who am I kidding? That’s not going happen. I said “quick” takes, not “brief” takes. Let’s go. 1. Shin Hari’s disguises If last episode was about […]
Business Proposal: Ep 3 The Mandela Effect
I’m laughing as I report to my 12 blog followers 🤪 that we recently experienced the “Mandela Effect” on the blog. Did you start it, @agdr03? Or was it @Fern? 😂😂 What’s the Mandela Effect? The term simply means mis-remembering a past event. It was coined by a researcher named Fiona Broome who distinctly remembered […]
Business Proposal: Episode 3 Quick Takes
In the first two episodes, we were introduced to the characters, shown their connections, and given a picture of how they all fit (or don’t fit, in the case of Hari) like puzzle pieces. In this episode, I think more pieces were dropped which would later contribute to a grand revelation about the characters or […]
Twenty-Five Twenty-One: @GB On the Right Distance
This is @GB’s reflections on the importance of keeping the right distance. I’m reposting her commentary in full for future reference. As usual, I added my comments at the end. 🙂 Thanks, @GB! — pm3 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸 The Right Distance @pkml3 spoke of the right distance for the lunge in fencing and I was writing a […]
Crazy Love: Open Thread
The thread is now open for spoilers and discussion. The premise of the show seems to be the antithesis of “Business Proposal.” From soompi: “Crazy Love” is described in one sentence “as a battle between crazy people.” Noh Go Jin is worshipped by students as the best math instructor in the country, but to his […]
